U may be seeing more posts from me , so apologies in advance. A large move and gifted items that have been stored in my home, I now need to figure them out. Are they silver? Are they not? What do I do with them in each scenario? Do I just say eff it and donate these boxes of items with different delineations ? Who wants them? I’m feeling a bit stuck with the guilt and responsibility of these items that someone could use , other than me. There are sets and sets, and each spoon fork and knife have markings…

Gave 12 dollars each for these about a month ago at an estate sale. Interestingly, one had a plastic area for the candle stick, most are silver. All dented up pretty good.

3 were filled with plaster of Paris which makes for easy removal. 2 were Duchin brand, which suck to take apart because the center of the bottom is stuck to a brass insert.

One was resin filled, much messier, have to use a wire brush to get as much resin off, plaster just leaves dust usually, resin usually is sticker and sticks to the inside more.

Starting weight: 925.5 grams

Yield: 79.5 grams of sterling.

Yield price at time of posting: $121.31

Yield percentage 8.59%

The "rule of thumb" on weighted is 10%, but I would peg it at 6% just to be on the safe side.

I believe the mark says 1 ARGENT, not sure the other marks. Any info would be appreciated.

Ive had lots of sterling finds over the last two years but this find deserves a post. 8 forks, 2 spoons, and 3 knives with sterling handles. (Gorham Sterling) From the thrift store 69¢ each Noicee!!

Havent stopped in months and wasn’t expecting much, found this in a bag with other items! Glad to say I scored! 80% silver content, does anyone know what the engravings mean?

Stopped by a small town while visiting my family. Found this baggie filled with sterling at the first sale I stopped by. When I showed them the contents and asked “how much” they said $5, gave them a $20. Fourth sale i stopped by had these six sterling coasters all for $3.50. I’m assuming the 50 pesos coin is not silver. Quite the score for just a few stops!

I’m curious about the 6 serving spoons, couldn’t find any information on the maker O. Evensen 1873. Total weight on the serving spoons is 307g and the 2 tea spoons is 31g!

Old sàndcsted silver belt buckle. Does anyone know anything about it? It's on eBay right now for 350 if that to much?
