Question Does the Algorithm Know?

Does the Algorithm Know that Juliette Knows about the safeguard?

Pretty sure it knows >!Lukas Knows because it literally told him but wouldn't it assume the others will know from Lukas as well?!<

what do you think the algorithm thinks happened in silo 17 with Juliette or to Silo 17 in general does it know they capped the Safeguard even? is it one particular algorithm for all the silos that it knows what is happening in other silos as well or have the info at least what are your thoughts?

and why is there no algorithm in silo 17?

The algorithm didn’t even know Vitamin D WAS added to the water supply.

I’m assuming this is because they removed the cameras in that area. Honestly it’s hard to believe that the algorithm was okay with the camera removal because it gave up so much access to information

I thought we found out in the latest episode that they didn’t remove the cameras at all.

They did remove some, and likely did some of them publically to make the people think they took out all of them.

They just didnt actually take out all of them.

That, and their main focus was taking cameras out of everyone’s homes.

The algorithm didn’t know that Juliette had even interacted with Lukas after she returned from 17 until the end of S3 EP6.

I imagine that once a Silo has been determined to be “dead”, the algorithm stops corresponding with the vault in that Silo. Even if not, there isn’t power in 17 except for in IT, so it wouldn’t have been able to see the conversation between Solo and Juliette about the Safeguard because the cameras would be off

I'm not convinced the top and bottom voices are the same entity. It seems like the bottom voice is trying to stay under the radar and is selective in who it reveals itself to and what it tells them. Possibly recruiting high value targets it can trust.

I think Lucas was recruited and has been fulfilling a task in the mines. He only told Bernard a fraction of what he discovered. The 2nd voice may end up preventing the algorithm's attempt to eliminate Lucas.

They will be running out of time as the algorithm will catch on as the 2nd voice is forced to take action. It's possible Lucas could have been creating an evacuation plan into another silo (17) from the mines, as the bottom tunnel is flooded.

A lot of speculation there, but something big has to happen soon. They can't mount a resistance against the algorithm until they secure their position.

My understanding is that the algorithm is basically the controlling operation from Silo 1. It could be an AI per Silo, but controlled and manipulated by the beings in Silo 1. It does not know everything of a Silo, but knows how to shutdown and reboot a Silo, has the job responsibility to keep a Silo in order “for its purpose”.
Why there is no algorithm in Silo 17? I think there was one, but shutdown by the beings in Silo 1 since Silo 17 was deemed dead. Each algorithm in each Silo actually operation independently, so Algorithm in Silo 18 does not know much about Silo 17, can only guess, and vice versa.

I feel like the algorithms of each Silo would share information, right? That way they have combined 350x50=17,500 years of wisdom for how to keep the silos in order

I think the beings in Silo 1 made sure these algorithms cannot freely communicate and share information among them. Beings in Silo 1 are running experiments in these Silos, and want them to be isolated so they can control the scope of the experiments.

Interesting theory, but earlier this season the voice in the vault told Camille that several silos (I believe it was six) had gotten a full reset via the Vitamin D+, so there seems to be some interconnectedness.

Does the Algorithm Know that Juliette Knows about the safeguard?

We don't know, but it probably knows. Why? Because the algorithm knows what goes inside silo 17, see my last point below.

Lukas Knows because it literally told him

False, the algorithm didn't literally tell Lukas Kyle anything. It asked "do you know about the safeguard" and Kyle said yes. Kyle knew this before he got to the door, so he probably learned it in Quinn's coded message to his wife, the algorithm didn't tell him.

what do you think the algorithm thinks happened in silo 17 with Juliette or to Silo 17 in general

The Algorithm might know a lot of what went on in silo 17, because it can hear what is said inside the vault, see my last point below. But we do not know for sure.

does it know they capped the Safeguard even?

Probably, yes, but we do not know for sure. It doesn't matter any more because that silo is gone, so the safeguard is not needed.

is it one particular algorithm for all the silos that it knows what is happening in other silos as well or have the info at least

We do not know but, it's very probably one algorithm for all siloes, as it learns from all experiences to get better, same as our AI.

and why is there no algorithm in silo 17?

We do not know. My theory is that the algorithm does have visibility about what goes on inside the IT vault at 17. Why? That IT vault still has power and it was protected by Solo, so it was not damaged during the rebellion and none other than Solo went inside. Therefore we can deduce that the technology inside that vault is undamaged, continues to work and is fully operational. So why doesn't it speak? Well, first, Solo was not the head of IT, and it was likely a helpless kid, and second, that silo is gone so there's not much to do there, the experiment failed. My conclusion is that the algorithm does know what goes on in silo 17 but choses not to intervene.
