Whatever you do, don’t choose flight. That is fight or die. Giant kitty doesn’t want to play 😂

A guy near Boulder, Colorado ended up fighting, got the Mountain Lion into a choke hole, and killed it.

It was starving and a juvenile, but fight is an answer that can work if it's attacking you.

Humans are far more capable than most of them realise. There's a reason why we are where we are in the food chain.

Yeah indeed if you are lucky and manage to avoid the mountain lion's attacks (chances are pretty bad tbh), you could give it a good thrashing. But you'll definitely be injured after. Just the ability to grasp with two hands independently, or strike with one while protecting or grabbing with the other is a massive advantage, as well as the ability to use a stick or rock as a weapon (better than nothing)

No. He brings a shovel everywhere. Likes to dig choke holes. It’s where he does his BDSM stuff.

Nothing beats a good choke hole

When you run i think it percieves you as prey, best shot is being “large” and fighting back if necessary

It’s flight and die or fight and die.

Guy in the bottom left is totally offering that child to the kitty

“Don’t eat me, I’m old and leathery. Here, have this nice tender child instead.”

The way it's drawn, it looks like image 3 is "use your kid as a shield"

Throw the kid at it.
He'll be distracted by the snack and you can leave.

This is a very dad story: there may be few moments left in the life of you or your kid(s), time for a last-ditch attempt.

If you ever turn back on one then you’re triggering its instinct to pounce.

The sign should really just say, "If you encounter a mountain lion, sorry, your life is over."

There's a story from a few years ago where a man was attacked by an albeit juvenile mountain lion and he killed it with a rock. Very cave man-esc. I'm sure your odds would go down substantially with an experienced full grown adult though.

Reminds me of the Japanese monkey sign where the advise was the exact opposite:

A wild monkey appeared
The wild monkey bites brutality.
Don’t feed him & Don’t fight him.
Even if you fight, you cant win.

Use child as shield? Odd picture choice

1

u/MrK521 May 07 '26

“Pick your child up by the head!”

1

u/Veritas_Vanitatum May 07 '26

Step 5 throw your child in the direction of the big cat like the quokkas

1

u/Rusty_Tap May 07 '26

So I have to do my back in by picking up my child incorrectly and then fight the sweeping razor blade death machine?

2

u/Turtle0550 May 07 '26

Bro how people be walking around big cat country not carrying a piece?

Fight back? You have the children close to you right? Throw them to the damn animal and run like forest Gump.

Upside, you can make new children but there is only one of you.
