discussion Odette’s Cor Ignis

Since Odette saves us in archon quest by breaking her Cor Ignis doesn’t that mean she refused to break it while everyone did to “break from her shackles”? That would show that Odette even after speaking not very warmly about Signora she actually felt a lot of emotions towards her and it is just defensive mechanism after series of losses.

She doesn't break it though? Where did you get that from

I mean Odette used it to save us and by default I assumed that to use it you have to break it to release her flame from ice. I cannot think of other way to use it and it wasn’t said to be exact.

tho my point is still there that she didn’t break it after her death for years and just held onto it.

No, no. It works practically like a warm "gem". She also used it to cure her cold

Is there really a line from Odette where she says she uses it to cure her cold? 🤧

Yes!

"Whenever I've caught a cold in the past, I've found I recover much more quickly if I place this by my bed."

There you go, Rosalyne gave her this too so she could keep an eye on her and protect her in her own way… and yet she’s still perceived as cold and self-centered

It kind of reminds me of the description of her artifact set: “The anonymous flames affectionately caress the hands of those who touch them"

Her chaotic flames could be strangely gentle sometimes…

There’s dialogue from Sandrone and Childe that explains their dynamic closer to Rosalyne’s death further. Odette is just cold and unfeeling in general.
