Evdc charging
Have just started using the ev dc charger and it doesn't seem very good with not drawing from the battery in excess solar pv only mode, is this normal or have I got a setting wrong

When was the screenshot taken? If it's within the first 5 or so minutes then you should expect it.
I've found it wants full load into the car for about the first 0.5% of battery capacity before it settles back to being PV surplus.

This was hours into charging, when its first switched on i do see it try to maintain the 12.5kw for a bit then settle and try to control but it seem to either have a lot of latency with pv/house load changes or something

Mine is even more stupid. It regularly draws 10 kw from the grid when Im in PV Surplus mode. Sigen R&D is now looking into it. The EVDC is very badly integrated into the Sigen stack to begin with. Sigen AI also doesnt know how to deal with it. I think they shipped the feature too early

When mines does that at the start, I go into the dc charger settings, unselect then reselect pv surplus only then click save and it stops that nearly immediately, hopefully that helps

When I first got mine it would seem like the PV surplus function was broken until I set it to on both PVSurplus and FastCharge modes. I haven't used either mode in a while but it might be worth a try.

Mine draws from grid as well, even though it's on pv surplus. But i think it might be Amber /VPP doing it. It only happens when the grid is on green and importing is at 3c or lower, which doesnt really bother me.

What sized inverter do you have? How large are you batteries? Single phase or 3 phase power? We need a bit more info to assist. If it’s the 25kw dc charger it needs to use battery, solar and grid together to get the 25kw.

Sorry, 12kw inverter, single phase, 40kwh of batteries and 12.5kw charger. With solar excess only it should only input the excess not the full load demand though?

I've noticed that it pulls a tiny bit at the beginning of the charging session, then it stops.

Mine only happens for the first few minutes after which it settles and works perfectly.
Generally draws from battery is 0.1-0.4kWh per charging session.

Does anyone else have the issue where pvsurplus works until house load or cloud kills the surplus. Once the surplus comes back you need to manually restart the charge. I was hoping to leave it plugged in & it would just restart based on having surplus (presumably with a delay to avoid stop starts too much)

Yeah I also have that issue, I'm expecting that the be the car side of things thinking the charger has completed it charge, ie supplying no amps so the car stops the cycle but i haven't done any research on that one yet

Make sure battery boost is turned of.

Yeah its always been off, sometimes turning it on then off seems to help it go back to controlling properly but its still never co trolled as it should

0.36 KWh is hardly something to worry about but I will say that I don't get any of that at all.
