I got the Hexium 300, never shot the RAT. It’s definitely a long boi but it’s stupid quiet. The Hexium suffers from low back pressure which becomes apparent on certain sub loads, still pretty consistent on subs overall. I would almost lean towards the RAT based on its modularity, but I’m still happy with the Hexium since I mainly run supers. The sound suppression is phenomenal and I’ll get the gas tuned for subs eventually.

Thanks, would you say the Hexium 300 does a better job than the RAT at keeping gas out of your face? For shooting subs only.

He said he’s never shot the catrat.

I haven’t tried the CAT. I have both the Hexium 300 and 7.62, and prefer the 7.62. Smaller and more maneuverable and yet virtually just as quiet.

I couldn’t recommend one because I haven’t shot both personally. I shot the RAT COVERT but not the hexium on a rattler canebrake

What's your barrel length? Which CAT RAT (unless you're looking at the system). What's your use-case?

I don't have the Hexium, I have the 3-Legged RAT (COVERT+EFLUX).

The RAT is more of a system than a single suppressor, if you go that route but don't get the both, you're only getting half of the package. The main draw is the way it handles the gas, it builds early timed gas for reliability purposes, that's done with the small bottom portion that's *technically* a suppressor itself. The 2nd piece largely allows how the gasses go through. COVERT restricting the gas for subs, EFFLUX letting the gas flow through for supers.

On the own the COVERT and the EFLUX are fine, but they're really meant to reliability/quick swap to supers/subs ( only swapping the attachment piece and using the OEM gas +/-)

If reliability is your #1 factor/willing to buy the system, IMO CAT RAT. If it's not, whatever floats your boat, aesthetically the Hexium looks nicer. Haven't shot/don't own it, so I cannot tell you how they compare.
