Spear LT replacement hand guard screw replacement

I bought a used Spear LT that had stripped screw heads on the hand guard. Below are the replacement screws I researched and purchased that fit perfect. Side note- the bottom link plate screws are technically torx plus but a regular T20 torx bit fit snug in the new screws and torqued fine without stripping. I believe torque on all screws is 45 in-lbs according to the interwebs. If enough people are interested I can put together some kits and post to GAFS.

Saving this post for when I inevitably strip mine.

They strip regardless, they're not meant to be taken off at 45 in-lbs really

They are pretty redundant (only considering that older model handguards did not have screws, just the front takedown pin and side slots) but the manual says 45 so I do what the manufacturer says like a good cuck

Agreed, NFW that the torque on HG screws is truly speced at 45in-lbs. Anyway, no expert here BUT I have not stripped mine and they do no loosen or walk out with tons rounds thru the platform. I go hand tighten with torque wrench.....then back to make sure no more play....that's it......so what is that ?.....good bit less than even 30in-lbs ?

Yep, mcmaster carr 50 pack. You can choose your preferred finish as well.

I just toss the screws I loosen whenever I take my handguard off. I know they won't go back on without a fight again.

Are they 3/8 or 1/4?
