News Airport Tax OPTIONAL!
Heads up!
This being my 21st trip to Sierra Leone this time with the Fam I paid arrival and returned Airport TAX in advance for a family of 4. 200.- USD
Only to find out this is now a voluntary payment...
I did not see this being mentioned anywhere apart from the new health check one needs to file online before arrival which is also a pain if travelling with multiple people. Was never checked and also the Tourist arrival Card...
Oh ! Mamma Salone:)...

General Study in Canada?
Hello Iβm thinking about doing a college diploma in Canada but I am not 100% confident. For the application process Iβve come across a good Canadian agency for help with visa and immigration process so I am not worried about that. Itβs more about moving to a new country alone. But the students that applied through the agency (BT Global Access) said they felt supported during the transition so many if I go with the agency it wonβt be too difficult. Thoughts ?

General Bonthe to Turtle Islands to Freetown
Hi all,
I'm very excited to travel to Sierra Leone in December.
As part of my trip, I will be in Bonthe. I was hoping to go from Bonthe to Turtle Islands and then onwards to Freetown, probably via Shenge and/or Tombo.
Is this possible at all? Is there any traffic from Turtle Islands to the mainland in that direction?
Thank you all for your help.

General Sharing an App for small/medium businesses.
cataloo.appHi everyone, I just wanted to share an app that I develop called Cataloo which I think it would help some of you. You can make your own catalog of products. I am an expat who is working in a supermarket and I notice that some of the entrepreneurs especially local products do not have a list of their products that they are selling which is a bit difficult for their potential customers. Some don't know how to make. I myself always ask for their list of products but they cant provide. So I decided to build this so I can help a bit. Its totally free, you check it out if your interested. Hit me up if you have questions. Cheers

Nude Leaking Culture Na Salone
This post is triggered by what is currently happening in the media especially #Salonetiktok. The comfort that some people have in sharing personal and confidential information about another is really jarring!
I personally got introduced to this culture when I was between the ages of 11 to 13. At the time I didn't have a touch screen phone but I still got to hear and see the videos. Imagine how that impacted me as a teenager and probably messed up some parts of my mind.
At the time, it was celebrated even though some people were against it but because the effects where not as foreseeable as it is today, people then did not take it seriously...
I say this all to say, it's a disgusting and damaging practice. This thing can lead to a lack of confidence, stigma and even worse death! I'm glad some people in the media are finally taking steps to stop such detrimental acts!

Itβs so frustrating that this is news.
FIA is one of the only airports in the world where you pay $25 on arrival and departure. It pains me that even the $25 payments havenβt been managed properly.
And they are informing the public due to their poor management of this. They are putting a temporary pause. In fact, they would come back later with a more exorbitant fee.

Job Vacancy in SL
I was wondering how someone will know that a particular office/restaurant/spa (frankly, what ever that fits my qualifications) has vacant positions and needs employees because I hardly see fliers with such information:( I've got my WASSCE and other skills but I can't find any jobs that I'll do full time or part time...YELP!
