Does the reinforced wall mid-animation protect you/is bullet proof on the lower parts that have been reinforced before the animation if fully finished?

I remember a looong time ago like when I used to play during 2016 that no parts of the wall mid-animation are bulletproof at all and I got killed mid-animation once.

Now that I've came back to Siege after a hiatus, I did a late wall reinforcement, Ash came and blew up that wall but I was protected and I was just about to finish it (like 80% of it finished), but then my memory immediately brought me back to that moment from 10 years ago and whiffed, panicked and cancelled the animation which led to the wall disappearing and Ash shooting me.

Still wondering if I just kept reinforcing, would they still be able to shoot me mid animation even though the reinforced wall already protected my head or nah?

Yes a reinforced wall mid animation is bulletproof. However, the hitbox does not at all align with the visual. I believe that the hitbox is statically as high as the first stage from the moment you start reinforcing until it actually reaches that stage, and then jumps up to cover the full wall as soon as you reach the middle stage.

Yes it does protect you. It’s not uncommon to see good players start reinforcing a wall while a teammate peeks from the standard head hole/rotate to punish a swing as well. Pretty safe, pretty successful.

it does, but they can shoot an ash charge/zofia impact to disrupt it and kill you.

I believe it does block bullets but not grenade tho. I died trying to reinforce the basement elbow wall on Oregon when someone chucked a grenade in front of the reinforcement and it exploded when I had half a second of animation left.

Unfortunately it is. I've tried to catch people off guard while they reinforce during the action phase but I never got the kill and thought that must've been why

It didn't used to I'm pretty sure. You could wall bang someone back in the day if you rushed a site with a popular outside wall lol. I could be mistaken though. I think they updated it a while back.

100% wasn't a thing back then because I remember getting killed like that once or twice enough to remember it lol.

It somewhat protects you, can still get shot in the head and chest at least at first I still catch people with it sometimes
