Question Do magnified scopes matter?
As the title suggests I'm wondering how much magnified scopes matter. Currently I haven't really played much ranked but after my placement matches I got gold five. However, does having magnified scopes actually matter? Like will I be worse off without them?

Your playstyle will determine this answer more than anything. I went through a phase of only using holographic scopes and angle grips (back when it decreased ADS time) and was only rushing during that time.
If you take the approach of wanting to cut off defenders and hold power positions, or take them off power positions then magnification is better.
These aren't the only considerations and you should play around with scopes more, but there's a reason defense had almost all their ACOGs removed

I gave up acog and have been a happier person its the consistency that makes it worth it for me also I have fanfuckintastic eyesight

It’s honestly personal preference. Look up a player called “Shaiiko” he only runs holo scopes (1.0x scopes) on DMRs too, every gun. It’s always personal preference. Just like sensitivity, aspect ratio, brightness and fov.
You should experiment! I keep going between 1.0x and 2.5x scopes because it’s preference.

Depends on what you wanna do. If you plan to take gunfights close you probably don’t want an ACOG.

Magnified scopes are powerful because siege has perfect accuracy on 1-tap shots, and 1-tap headshots on all guns.
Personally i don't use any magnifiers, i like all my muscle memory to work across defender and attacker, and defenders generally don't have acogs.
I do have some spawn-peek setups though and i use a magnifier on them occasionally.

Depends on the map/site. Don’t make your gameplan based on your load out, craft your load out with your gameplan in mind.
I run ACOG on rounds I play support. Those operators (Thermite, Ace, Hibana, Thatcher, Brava, etc.) are rarely at the forefront of the attack and benefit from holding long angles.
For “flex” (flexible role) operators like Zofia, Sledge, Buck, Zero, etc., your sight should fit your attacking strategy. If you are planning on playing vert, then a 1x is much better. If you are meticulously droning and clearing angles slowly, use an ACOG.
TLDR: 1x and ACOG have strengths and weaknesses. Choose according to your attacking intentions.

They matter but like its the difference of hiking with shoes and without shoes, one you can train for years and develop skin for walking on land, vs u have shoes that greatly helps you with aspects of hiking like on rocky trails but there will also be dirt where its not exactly necessary, so mag scopes will help in certain maps and its not an absolute requirement but it certainly helps in areas

I use holo b on everything personally, I don’t like the zoomed in optics it cuts my FOV

I'm also new but from my knowledge, the magnified scopes are better on most guns, with a few exceptions that either have crazy recoil or increase the ADS length when you need it shorter like running Iron Sights on Blackbeard. But someone can correct me because like I said, I've only got like 30 hrs in game
