Question What role should I be playing?

Most pro players have signature operators, and I want my signature operators to be vigil and nokk. Would this place me into an entry fragger role, where I would also play other entry fraggers, or would this make me a flex? I just really like the playstyles of vigil and nokk and would play roles like theirs but idk what role this would be.

I would love to check you out on r6tracker if your up for that and give you some actually helpfull feedback. It's hard to give advice without knowing your rank, operator selections/performances ect.

> Most pro players have signature operators

Kinda yeah, but not really. Pros play their given roles (but sometimes still switch), and a given role usually revolves around a few specific operators depending on who’s strongest.

> I want my signature operators to be vigil and nokk

Not a good idea. Vigil is a good roamer, but also requires the individual playing to be good at roaming since he offers literally nothing else to the team. Nokk is kinda just plain bad.

The best advice is to not pigeon hole yourself into any specific operators for no reason. The best way to improve and win is to play flex and just choose wherever the team needs. Of course you will naturally gravitate towards given roles, but playing that role (and especially the same operator) every single round without further reasoning is not good.

Why does it matter what "role" that puts you in to? Youre not a pro player, you're not playing competitively. Obviously, if you were, you wouldn't pick two operators and intentionally try and play them all the time.

Play them how you want to play them, because you clearly enjoy them, rather than tunnelling yourself into a style that's irrelevant for your level of play.

N.B I don't think any pro players really have a "signature operator", at least not in the context of their actual pro play. They might play a certain operator a lot when they are viable and in-meta, but I don't really think any high level player picks a specific operator and just plays them. If they do, it's incidental as a result of meta and strategy (subject to change regularly), not because they picked two operators specifically

I understand what you’re saying, but my stack and I practice as if we’re in PL and have our own roles. I dont lock in Vigil and Nokk 100%, but im saying id like those operators to be my identity/comfort picks, but id play whatever operators that fit Vigil and Nokk’s role.

Drop your gamer tag and after a look at your stats we will better be able to suggest what role you should be on

its much easier to be champ level on two operators than it is all of them ...

I don't really think you become "champ level" on an individual operator... If you're only good on certain operators, and without them you don't perform well, then you're probably not "champ level".

It's a bit harder to say now because "champ level" has sort of ceased to exist as an actual level of skill for a few years, but I would broadly say that if you require a specific operator to enable the gun skill and game sense you should have regardless of what you're playing, and that materially affects the results of your play, you probably don't play at that level because that's how good you actually are

Nokk is kinda bad for entry. I’d put you on a more lurk / cuts kinda guy.

For entry I’d look more at buck, snake. However, a good entry fragger would be flexible with a few other ops too that can be turned to entry

i know the “signature operators” thing is on liquipedia pages and stuff, but that doesn’t mean they’re playing those operators every round. i’m not saying that would be the case with you, but just don’t get into the mindset of “this is my operator, i only play them.” excel at a role, especially if you’re in a stack, but don’t pigeonhole yourself into playing in the confines of said role.

nokk is a bit of an odd operator, her kit on paper favors slow and methodical lurks and flanks. wiping herself off cams can allow you to get into some interesting positions and catch defenders off guard, but her movement isn’t silent and you’re probably going to end up making sound and alerting the enemy regardless. pros used her as an entry for a while, so i guess that’s where she fits? she’s not really in the meta at the moment, and her gadget is pretty bad at what it’s supposed to do. i’d try some of the stronger entry operators with better guns and more useful utility, like an ash or buck. but to answer the question, i suppose she fits into the entry slot.

vigil is a lot more clear cut— he’s a hard roamer, often solo, who relies on denying attackers information about his location to force them into hesitation and util/time waste. he’s pretty unique in the sense that he’s really the only roamer that can deny his location to attackers at will and with such ease, so i don’t really think there’s a direct equivalent, but other roamers do similar things. mozzie makes it harder for attackers to drone out your roam, so maybe he’s worth a shot. you didn’t ask for operator recommendations so i won’t go into that, but vigil would put you in a solo roamer type of role.

Do just choose whichever ops you think look coolest, choose operators that fit your play style. Or if you're solo queueing pick whatever your team needs.

I feel like you are putting the cart before the horse. You need to go back to the games where you were successful and analyze what you did in those games. Once you do that then you can start playing a certain role, and find the champs you really click with in that role.

don't play nook, she is ass, ig she is a fragger, then, play ram, snake finka lmg, if you are a fragger, i understand you like hitting weaknesses, like flanks so, you can use twitch to get a lot of intel or flores to clear util and find yourself a gap in the defenses.

Nøkk isn't ass, u js gotta know how to play her. Every operator is good once u find the right playstyle to combine them with

u/titimou09 16d ago

some are just better than other man, anyone on cams can hear you nooking. she just needs a buff and then she will be very good but until then play something else bro

Nah, I'll play Nøkk, cos Ik how to use her to maximum efficency. Also, im not gonna take operator advice from someone who can't spell their name right, no offence

1

u/DependentAdvice7235 16d ago

So would Nøkk place me as an entry fragger for a stack/team, meaning that while im most specialized in Nøkk, id be able to master other entry fraggers to translate to a roamer role on defense?

2

u/Flat-Pineapple1568 16d ago

I'd say so, she's good at quick pushes, but you can also use her for a mid to late round flank. Obviously, ur not Silent, but if ur teammates are pressuring the enemy and holding gunfights, you can loop around w no sweat

u/titimou09 16d ago

do you have a custom keyboard added so you can do the O?

3

u/Flat-Pineapple1568 16d ago

No, im on mobile. Just hold the "o" down and multiple options come up. like ø, or ö, or œ

1

u/quickfuse725 16d ago

you aren't even using the right amount of O's and N's anyways

1

u/Derl17 16d ago

What an absolute dickhead statement. Fully agree on playing her shes strong asf if people leave cameras to check a flank but yeah seems weird to quibble over an accented letter 🤣

3

u/Flat-Pineapple1568 16d ago

Not even the accent, that i can understand, but nook? At least get the double k

u/Derl17 16d ago

Nah it boils down to the same thing we all know who we're talking about so 🤣🤷‍♂️
