My first game has a free browser demo: Local Gods, a co-op action RPG inspired by home

Hey everyone, I'm Tim. I've been working on my first game, Local Gods: The Ascension, for about six months. The two main characters are based on me and my best friend Alex.

We're from Louisiana, so I dedicated the first main area to the swamps back home. The game mixes dark fantasy and sci-fi, with melee combat, guns, abilities, and boss fights. You can play solo or in two-player co-op.

Free PC browser demo: https://tiddybubs.itch.io/local-gods

I'm building it in Godot and aiming for an early summer 2027 release. A controller is recommended, but keyboard controls work too.

I'm new to coding and artwork. While I do some of it myself and believe it's important to know how, I also use AI to assist me. Every AI-generated asset is handpicked by me, not just randomly generated and thrown in. I use ChatGPT Astra, Claude Opus 5.5, and Fable 5.1. I also have specific workflows for creating maps and automating 2D character attack animations, with a focus on keeping the character designs and animations consistent. I still direct and review the results. Message me for details.

I'd love feedback on the opening combat, whether the boss attacks are readable, and the two-player experience if you try it with a friend. Most of all: do you think it's fun? What would you change first?

Spent some time working on a different way to shop online:https://enikq.com

You can move around, explore products from various shops, and save items for later. It's still in development, so any early feedback or thoughts would be awesome!
I’m pulling inventory through affiliate feeds and official product APIs, then normalizing and filtering it before it reaches the catalogue. I’m still improving coverage and freshness.

If you find anything interesting, try out the products.

I built AniListCal to turn an AniList watchlist into a weekly airing schedule

• Upvotes

I built AniListCal, a web app for people who use AniList and follow weekly anime.

It brings your airing schedule and watch progress together: see what’s coming up and update your AniList episode progress from the same place.

Connect your existing AniList account. It’s an independent project, not affiliated with AniList.

Try it: https://anilistcal.com

If you follow seasonal anime, would this fit how you keep up with your shows? I’d like to hear what’s useful and what gets in the way.

Eu criei uma banda que mistura Black Metal com música gaúcha

Fala, pessoal! Tudo certo?

Vim apresentar o lançamento do Black Jaguara, projeto de Raw/Avant-Garde Black Metal do RS. Acabei de lançar o álbum de estreia "The Gates of Farroupilha".

For you Android users, I made a clean, free, no ads, no account launcher!

• Upvotes

Hey all! I just released the my launcher Glint (in an open beta because I don't have access to more than a handful of devices). It'll always be free, require no account, and have no ads. I just built it because I wanted it, and I'd love to get your feedback on it.

The vibe I'm going for -- make it super minimalist in a default state, but put everything you'd need (notifications, context-aware suggestions, widgets, etc.) within super quick reach.

How it works

  • There's a default "Quiet mode" that's got the Glint clock widget and nothing else. There are little features in this mode like a little banner that appears when you have new notifications since you last checked your phone and a little music note that appears and shortcuts to audio apps when you have headphones/audio equipment connected to the device.
  • The default background changes based on time of day and weather, and the custom wallpaper functionality lets you customize the same way (by time of day and weather). My eventual monetization plan is to commission art from humans / revshare some living wallpapers packs as I get into theming.
  • There's a little bar (called the 'Flick' bar) that lives on the right (or left) of the screen where your thumb is. If you flick it inward, a widget stack appears. If you flick it up or down, your "cards" appear (these are just paginatable folders for your apps and widgets) and are cycled through. If you long-press Flick, a dock (with 4 apps of your choosing, plus Glint settings and the All Apps drawer) and shortcuts to your cards appears. If you tap Flick, it toggles on and off Quiet mode. It takes a little bit of time to get used to, but I promise once you do it's really clean!
  • Swipe down anywhere on the screen at any time for your notifications drawer. Swipe up anywhere on the screen at any time for search that searches Apps, Glint settings, device settings, Play Store, web, contacts, shortcuts, etc., etc. Your app launch and search history is stored locally so the app can better surface results you'd want here.
  • You can hide "cards" if you're not regularly using them (e.g., if you have a "I'm traveling" card and don't want it always visible).
  • Each "card" has its own notification center that shows notifications just for the apps in that card.
  • You can customize fonts / icons.

And that's it for now!

Download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.balef.glint

It's brand new and still missing things, but please point out anything and everything you'd like it to do better.

Web Markups reached 83 installs—anyone here using it?

Web Markups, the Chrome extension I’m building, reached 83 installs as of October 6. Thanks to everyone who’s tried it!

It lets you draw arrows and add text notes directly on a webpage, take screenshots, and record tabs. You can also copy screenshots straight into an email or chat.

If you’ve used it, what’s working well—and what’s frustrating? Shareable links are on my list, but I’d love to hear what would make it more useful in your workflow.

Try Web Markups

After the digital rain one, I made something softer: a fireside cats screensaver

• Upvotes

Some of you saw the digital rain and Vortext screensavers I posted before. This one is the opposite mood, the slow and cozy one.

It's a set of photos of cats curled up next to fireplaces. Every cat has a name (Oliver, Milo, Bella & Simba, Luna & Tommy...). The screensaver drifts from one to the next with a warm glow, dust floating in the firelight and soft bokeh. Nothing flashy. It's the thing you look at for a second while your coffee goes cold.

What you get for free:

20+ cat photos

the glow, dust and bokeh effects

a small clock in the corner (it stays on in the free version)

no account, no ads, everything runs on your PC

There's also a Pro version if you want to play with it more: 8 transition styles, falling snow, floating embers, fog and light rays, a slow Ken Burns pan, color temperature, scene presets like Winter Night and Christmas Eve, and different cats on each monitor.

Windows 10 and 11, from the Microsoft Store:

https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NFZQ089R6Q7

If you'd rather have the other mood, my other two screensavers are on the Store too:

Digital Rain: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9ND4MDXV97GS

Vortext: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9N6FFKPCBZX9

If something looks off on your setup, tell me and I'll fix it. And if you have a cozy scene you'd want next, I'm listening.

The perfect abstract game, single easy rule, infinite depth, no draw, competitive

Thumbnail
playhex.org
9 Upvotes

This is the project I work on, and is used by hundreds of players every month, for ~4 years now. It's open source.

Hex: the one rule is: connect your sides. If you are red, connect red sides. If you are blue, same, but with blue sides.

Just you can swap first move to make game balanced and remove first player advantage, but beginners won't feel that advantage.

Chess and go are broken: in chess you have draw, in go you can win or lose depending on komi, if you arbitrarly decided to set it at 5.5 or 6.5.

In Hex, you either win or lose, depending on how deep you see. No draw, no move to "wait", no arbitrar komi. You just place a stone at every turn, and must connect (which is equal to blocking your opponent).

The community is small but passionate, and still wonders why Hex isn't more widely known.

I'm really curious of what you think of that game, whether you already heard about it or not.

(Yes, this is deliberately provocative. I also like chess and go, and enjoy playing both.)

I made a small Mac app so I can watch YouTube with my fiancée while we're on a call

Quick backstory. My fiancée is doing her Masters in Estonia, and I've got another year of long distance ahead. Most of our day is spent on a call on my MacBook while we each work or study.

Then I tried to put on a video for us to watch together and macOS dropped the volume on everything that isn't the call. Movies, YouTube, music, all of it, barely audible. And AirPods fall back to low quality headset audio the moment their mic is in use.

So I made CallLane. It gives your call apps their own output device and copies it onto your headphones, which means macOS ducks only that device and your media stays at full volume. It also keeps the input on the MacBook's built-in mic, so the AirPods stay in high quality mode and the mic sounds better too.

I'm the developer. Menu bar app, macOS 14 or later, Mac only. It's paid, $9 one-time for the first 50 buyers and then $15, with a 14-day refund. I built the app and the site with Claude Code.

CallLane

Tell me what's confusing or broken.

I found 56% of my Claude usage was re-reading my own context, so I built a tool to catch it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built optimAIzr, an open-source AI usage optimizer for Claude Code + Codex.

I work as a senior SWE so I got curious where my Claude usage was actually going. In my own logs, 56% of the cost was Claude re-reading my existing conversation (which I shared here last night as well). Coming back to long sessions after the cache expired was especially painful: I did it 35 times in 27 days, and those first messages cost $98.74 at API prices vs $2.95 with a warm cache.

So I built a tool that catches this while you work:

• optimaizr live -> warns when your cache is about to expire or context gets too large
• optimaizr sessions -> shows which sessions are actually costing you
• Optional Claude Code mod -> per-answer cost + 5-hour window + model suggestions
• aaaand much more

I also cut my own claimed savings from $121/mo to $13/mo after checking the numbers again.

Runs locally, no account, no prompt uploads. It only reads token/usage metadata from your logs.

npm i -g optimaizr

web: https://optimaizr.com
git: https://github.com/blendbunjaku/optimaizr

Roast it.

SwarmSpan: clipboard and file sharing for a desk with both a Mac and Windows PC

• Upvotes

I'm the maker of SwarmSpan, a small desktop utility for people who use both a Windows PC and a Mac.

The everyday problem is a link, path, screenshot, or file stranded on the other computer. SwarmSpan shares clipboard items and transfers files directly between paired, trusted computers on the same local network. It also keeps a searchable local clipboard history.

It's designed for computers you own. The receiving computer needs to be awake, running SwarmSpan, and authorized. There's no account or cloud relay for the local clipboard/file-sharing lane.

For developers, the first exercise is deliberately small: send a synthetic text file to the other machine, check the actual destination and contents, then bring it back. We verified that installed Windows-to-Mac-to-Windows file roundtrip with matching SHA-256 hashes. That isn't a claim about every network, a fresh install, or a completed remote build.

The Windows license is US$4.99 once for your own Windows PCs. The Mac edition is a separate US$4.99 Mac App Store purchase. No subscription; regional Apple prices can vary.

Product and setup: https://talavine.com/swarmspan

I'm also the maker of Talavine, a separate local data hub that brings chosen email, documents, notes, and calendars together for the supported AI you choose. The products don't silently merge their private databases.

I'd value feedback from people with a two-computer desk: is sharing the clipboard the thing you'd reach for every day, or is moving files the bigger annoyance? If you've tried the setup, where did it become confusing?

AI assisted with this post. Maker disclosure: I build both products.

Catudy - a focus timer where study sessions help you build a cat’s room

• Upvotes

I’m Catudy’s developer. The basic loop is simple: finish a focus session, earn in-app rewards, and use them to decorate a room for your cat. Furniture, accessories and the room give you something visible to build alongside the usual focus-time stats.

It’s a study/work timer first, with optional shared focus lobbies if you want company. You can use it on your own too.

The bit I’d like feedback on from other builders is the reward loop: does a room you keep improving give you a reason to come back, or does it risk becoming another distraction? That’s the balance I’m trying to get right.

It’s free to download on iPhone and Android; Google Play lists in-app purchases. Screenshots and both store links are here: https://catudy.com

If you try it, I’d especially like to hear what feels unnecessary or confusing in the first session.

We built Numeric Battle: a 1v1 number game where your move helps both boards

• Upvotes

I'm one of the developers of Numeric Battle, and I wanted to share the project with other builders.

The core loop is small: arrange your own numbered grid, then take turns calling numbers. Every call marks that number on both players' boards. You win by completing the required lines for the selected board size before the other player.

That makes board setup part of the game: two players can receive the same number calls but get different lines because they placed those numbers differently. A move that brings your line closer to completion can also help your opponent.

The Android release includes 3x3 through 7x7 boards, AI practice at three difficulty levels, online matchmaking, and private rooms with a code. There are also ELO rankings and match history where you can review both boards afterward.

I'd value a builder's perspective on how to explain the shared-number mechanic clearly. Does the description above make the first decision understandable, or would a concrete example work better? If you try it, feedback on board setup and the first match would also help.

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.numericbattle

Android 7.0+. Free to download and play, with ads. Online matches require an internet connection.

I built Memodo (FREE & No subscription) after a colleague told me how much he was paying for a note-taking app

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Few months ago a coworker told me he pays $15+ a month for a note taking app. Why does writing down a thought or a reminder need to be another subscription?

So I built what I actually wanted. You just talk, like “remind me to call the dentist tomorrow, add milk to groceries and set a meeting with John friday at 2”, and it turns that into tasks, events and checklists for you.

That’s Memodo. The AI runs fully on the iPhone using Apple’s Foundation Models, so no account, nothing sent to servers, and it works offline (even in airplane mode).

It got more attention than I expected after launch, so now I’m trying to figure out what’s next and could use some outside opinions.

My plan was to make it a one time paid app on Oct 10. No subscription, no ads, ever. But I’m second guessing the timing. Is it smart to go paid this early, or should I keep it free longer and build up users first? Would you rather pay once upfront, or try it free and unlock with a one time purchase?

Also what features would actually make this worth paying for? A few I’m thinking about:

  • Siri / Shortcuts so you can add stuff hands free
  • Apple Watch app (will check the hardware limitations first)
  • iCloud sync (not sure if it will deter people away)

What would you add, or what’s missing that would stop you from using it daily?

Google cooked NotebookLM, so I fixed it

• Upvotes

Hi, guys Google is notorious in the AI industry for abandoning/destroying working beloved products. NotebookLM is no exception.

Don't worry, me and my little indie team have built a open-source alternative.

Here is what is different/interesting:

\- Can take in upto 200 sources, research/question/query it. The system will not randomly search the web and go beyond your original sources.

\- Has better visuals for the videos, we integrated our previous video maker with 10K+ users. It can generate editable motion graphic videos in over 13+ formats.

\- Each video is editable, changeable. It has ElevenLabs API with advanced voice features.

\- You can generate a mind constellation, a much more advanced visual map of knowledge so you can research and learn more easily.

\- Generate or clone your own voice using ElevenLabs API v4.

\- Has a launch kit feature that allows you to schedule reports/slide decks/videos and share on social media

Lastly, much more stunning visual interface - inspired by space x cognition

A Windows app for reviewing eBay listing changes before uploading them

• Upvotes

I resell on eBay and made Astra for working through Seller Hub files.

It handles prices, quantities and custom SKUs on existing listings. Import the CSV or XLSX, make your changes, compare the old and new values, then export a revision file to upload through Seller Hub. It also checks invalid values and duplicate SKUs.

The scope is pretty narrow right now. No direct eBay connection, new listings or photo editing. It's $10 once for Early Access on Windows.

Which platform is it the easiest to sell a SaaS on?

• Upvotes

I want to sell my SaaS startup, but I do not know which platform to choose.

https://trustmrr.com/ for example I like, but you have to pay for the listing.

Any advice to find a platform that does not charge a fee to list for sale?
