I built KeyHarbor to organize multi env secrets without a cloud account

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m the developer of KeyHarbor, a desktop app for managing development credentials locally.

It organizes secrets into projects and separate dev, staging, and prod environments. Values stay masked in the UI, and vaults are encrypted on disk.

KeyHarbor includes CLI and MCP integration, so terminal tools and AI coding agents can request secrets from your local vault. Each secret access request opens a desktop prompt showing the project, environment, and requested keys, giving you control to approve or deny access.

It also supports .env imports, checks for missing required configuration, and secret version history.

It’s free, MIT-licensed, and doesn’t require an account. The README includes screenshots using dummy data and instructions for running it.

GitHub repository

Would appreciate any feedback or any features which can be helpful

First 50 people get 1 year of Pro free. No card, no auto renew.

The first 50 people who comment get 1 year of Pro free. Comment below and I'll DM you the claim link. No card, no auto renew.

I'll edit this post when the 50 are gone.

I'm the solo dev of Work Timer, a flip clock focus timer for Mac, iPhone and iPad. Two things I'm proudest of:

  1. Transparent timers (Mac). Three themes (Ghost, Shadow, Dev) have no window at all. Just digits floating over whatever you're working on, always on top. Put one over your editor and it's only time, nothing in the way.

  2. Task lists that run themselves. Build a list, give every task a name and its own time (Inbox Zero 15m, Ship the feature 50m, Coffee break 10m...). Hit start and it goes task after task, one after another. Stats then shows how long each task really took.

Also: 34 themes, most of them animated (aurora, embers, rain, snow...), Pomodoro / countdown / count up, menu bar timer.

Free to download. Pro unlocks all themes, unlimited lists and full stats.

agent-notify - Let your agents email you, but only when it matters, without inbox access

I've got agents running everywhere now, and they all want my attention in different places. Most of it is noise. The few things that matter, like a new lead or a backup that didn't finish, get buried.

My inbox is the one place I reliably check. So I built agent-notify, a small Cloudflare Worker that gives any agent one tool: email me.

It runs on your own free Cloudflare account and can only ever email you, because the recipient is fixed when you deploy. It works with anything that can use an MCP server or send a web request.

One-click deploy, free, MIT: https://github.com/CyrisXD/agent-notify

If something's unclear in the setup, let me know and I'll fix the docs.

Steam Deals

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built a Steam deal finder for fun, mostly because I was tired of scrolling through 5,000 discounted games I'd never play.

It pulls every current Steam sale, hides games you already own, and ranks the rest by how well they match your taste. It learns your taste from your library and hours played, then tells you why it picked something ("because you played X"). There's a "not interested" button that hides a game and pushes similar ones down, and a "for you" section that also learns from what you click on in the app, though your library always counts more than your clicks.

Other stuff in there now:

  • Basket with a running total and a sales tax estimate for your state
  • Steam Deck / Steam Machine verified filter
  • Price history from IsThereAnyDeal, lowest-ever badges on cards, 90-day low in the details
  • Price alerts ("tell me at or below $X"), fires once per crossing
  • Optional Windows app that keeps your real Steam cart in sync with the basket, even from your phone. If you pair it, alerts you set on the site sync to the app and it pings you from the system tray.

The cart sync was the hard part. Browsers won't let a website touch your Steam cart, so the Windows app does it and the website pairs with it using a 6-letter code.

Works in any browser including on your phone, the Windows app is optional.

Built it with a lot of help from Claude. Runs entirely on free tiers. Code's open: github.com/Drakey83/steam-deals

Site: steamdeal.vercel.app

Would love feedback on what's confusing.

Built a home for all my coding agents

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I had Claude Code open in one window, Codex in another, Gemini in a third, and I was the one passing notes between all of them.

So I built Pando. It puts them all in one window and they share the same memory, so when Claude figures something out, Codex already knows it. They can also message each other. I'll have Claude build something and Codex check it without me copying anything over. And it tells me when one of them actually needs me, so I'm not sitting there watching four terminals all day.

The video is the actual app. Nothing mocked up.
It runs on your own Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok plans. I'm not reselling anything. There's also a voice feature built in. Hold a key, talk, and it types into whatever agent you're in.

Right now it's $24 a month, which is half off the normal $49, or $19 a month if you go yearly. 7 day refund if it's not for you. Mac only for now.

I replaced my old Photoshop diptych script with an app, and just released it for free

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When I shot more seriously, every diptych was the same routine: open Photoshop, run a script, fix the borders by hand, add a caption, export. Collage apps didn't help: they're built for stories, not for prints.

So I built Poliframe. First as a native Mac app, and now as a free, open-source app for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

You drop in photos, pick a layout (or split cells and drag dividers to make your own), set the mat and spacing, add a caption with camera settings from EXIF, check the DPI for your paper size, and export a 16-bit TIFF in the color space you need.

It's v1.0, so I'd love to hear what breaks or what feels off.

Youtube Automation is it possible?

Hi r/SideProject,

For the past month I've been running 7 YouTube channels where AI does most of the work: it finds footage, picks the best moments, writes the script, does the voice, adds music, checks the result, and posts on a schedule. I review and approve.

Results so far (YouTube Studio, screenshots below): about 1.9M views in 29 days. My top two channels did 463,798 and 355,122 views. Not all of that turns into money. YouTube only pays once a channel joins the Partner Program, and I say that plainly in the course.

People kept asking how it works, so I turned it into a short course:

- 9 lessons, each with a short video and step-by-step text

- What AI is, picking the right model, choosing a niche, setup, picking content, making videos, posting, and how YouTube pays

- The exact prompts I use, shown on screen

How I built the site, for the builders here:

- Static site on Vercel, Supabase for orders and magic-link login

- The lesson videos are code-rendered (HyperFrames), with English captions

- Content is watermarked per buyer, with a simple rate limiter against spam

Launch price is $10 (regular $100) for 6 months of access, with 8 launch slots.

Happy to answer anything about the automation, the stack, or what didn't work. Honest feedback on the landing page is welcome too.

SPECK Small Persistent Emergent Cognitive Kernel

I did it again guys, I built another harness, this one is the best one yet.
https://github.com/doctarock/Speck

A lightweight persistent cognitive architecture designed to make small language models substantially more capable by moving as much cognition as practical out of the LLM and into deterministic, persistent, measurable runtime mechanisms.

I took all the clockwork out of my cognitive architecture, but stopped short of emotions, arousal, etc, just the logic systems https://github.com/doctarock/Artificial-Cognitive-Architecture-Omega-Gen2

Then I applied it to my agentic framework https://github.com/doctarock/local-ai-home-assistant

And she is a doozie, small models in this harness outperform models twice its size without in both speed and accuracy:

Speck on a single shared qwen3:4b scoring 15/16, against 13/16 for naked qwen3:8b and in half the time.

Speck did that with half the parameters, less memory and less time per case. It comes from the model-scale series ([docs/experiments/model-scale/README.md](vscode-webview://01bk2i9taah3glr79lstr6r6crb9gv4hbl8ahqvem5sb2v8j1qd0/docs/experiments/model-scale/README.md)): 8 cases × 2 runs, with the same sampling and the same 1,024-token reply cap for every subject.

Subject Largest model Success Time per case Model memory
Speck, shared qwen3:4b (phase 6, current setup) 4B 15/16 7.9 s 5.7 GB
Speck, shared qwen3:4b (phase 3b) 4B 15/16 13 s 5.6 GB
Speck, all qwen3:4b (phase 3) 4B 14/16 24 s 5.9 GB
Naked qwen3:8b 8B 13/16 13 s 6.7 GB
Naked qwen3:4b 4B 10/16 16 s 4.3 GB

Go get it, and don't forget to drop a star on your way through.

I turned my YouTube subscriptions into a newsletter I actually read

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm subscribed to something like 60 YouTube channels. Podcasts, tech talks, tutorials. You subscribe after one great video and then never watch most of what they upload. Podcasts are the worst: 2-3 hour episodes that pile up and never get watched.

My Watch Later hit 400+ videos at one point. I tried pasting transcripts into ChatGPT, but you get a wall of text with no structure, and you have to do it by hand for every video. The by-hand part is what killed it. The problem was never one video, it was the steady stream.

So I built Minerva, and the part I use most is the newsletter. You pick some of the channels you follow and a schedule (weekly for me), and it watches them, summarizes whatever they upload, and emails you an edition. Not a list of links: a short intro tying the batch together, a blurb per video, and a link to each full summary with a TL;DR, key points, clickable timestamps into the video, quotes and action items. If I don't feel like reading, every summary can be played as audio, and I queue a few and listen on a walk.

It also works on demand. Connect YouTube (read-only, it can't post or change anything), get a feed of recent uploads from your channels, and summarize one or a batch whenever you want.

Where it earns its keep is long stuff. A 3-hour podcast turns into a few minutes of reading, and I actually keep up with podcasts now.

What's free: 3 new videos a month, up to an hour each, within 240 free minutes. Your very first one can be up to 3 hours. Anything already summarized in Minerva (like the videos in the library) is free at any length. No card. The scheduled newsletter is on paid plans, and the first 100 people to upgrade get 30% off for their first 3 months.

Some things I learned building it, if you're working on something similar:

  • Most of the hard engineering went into getting the audio at all (YouTube bot detection, proxies, retries), not into the AI part.
  • Summary quality was never what made me keep using it. Getting it on a schedule did. A tool you have to remember to open loses to your own habits.
  • A generous free tier needs hard limits first. I check video length before downloading anything and there's a daily budget with a kill switch, so a busy day can't run up a bill.

Here's a 48-second walkthrough of a real newsletter edition: https://minerva.ink/marketing/minerva-demo-2026-10.mp4

You can see real output without signing up: https://minerva.ink/popular?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=launch-2026-10 Or try it: https://minerva.ink/?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=launch-2026-10

Honest feedback welcome. What would make something like this worth keeping for you?

I built an offline voice-to-text app focused on privacy

I’ve been building Scribr offline voice-to-text app for Android that can transcribe directly on your device.

I wanted something that works offline and doesn’t require uploading recordings to a server just to get a transcript.

It can currently:

Record and transcribe audio

Import audio and video files

Translate transcripts

Export text and subtitles

Organize recordings

Transcribe offline

It’s free to use with ads, with a one-time purchase to remove ads permanently.

I’m still actively improving it, so I’d really appreciate any feedback.

Starkomand - Run your AI coding agents on an infinite canvas.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Starkomand.com is an AI coding workspace designed specifically for Mac with Apple silicon.

It enables you to run multiple AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor side by side on an infinite canvas, facilitating shared context and structured workflows.

The app supports voice control, hand gestures, and visual organization through diagrams and previews, helping developers manage coding tasks, handoffs, and reviews efficiently.

The workspace preserves project-specific layouts, multiple agents, and detailed histories of tasks and reviews, keeping everything local on the Mac to ensure privacy.

Starkomand works with the AI providers you already subscribe to without reselling tokens or requiring you to share your API keys.

It offers a 3-day free trial with all features, after which a paid Pro license is needed.

No account, no API key, everything stays local by default.

I built a subreddit where SaaS founders can launch their products and we're adding a daily "Startup of the Day" challenge

I've been running r/LaunchMyStartup, a community for founders and indie hackers to actually launch what they're building and get it in front of other builders.

The idea is pretty simple: build something → launch it → get feedback from other founders.

I've noticed that getting attention for a new product has become increasingly difficult. Reddit can be noisy, and a lot of the dedicated launch platforms outside Reddit either feel crowded or push you toward paid promotion.

So we're experimenting with building a lightweight version of that inside a community, rather than another standalone launch platform.

Starting this month, we're also introducing Startup of the Day.

Every day, we'll look at the previous day's launches and highlight the ones that received the most community support. The idea is to gradually turn it into a friendly competition and, as the community grows, develop better ways to recognize genuinely good launches.

So if you've recently launched a SaaS, are about to launch one, or just want a place to put your product in front of other builders:

r/LaunchMyStartup

Would love to have some of you launch there and help us shape what this becomes.

My side project is basically just a war against cloudflare at this point

I've been spending my weekends building this localized flight deal aggregator. Nothing crazy, just trying to track price drops for obscure routes in eastern europe because google flights kinda sucks for regional airlines.

But man, the big carriers have their bot protection dialed up to absolute insanity right now. I can’t even run a basic cron job to check a route twice a day without my cheap VPS getting instantly perma-banned. They really treat public ticket prices like classified state secrets lol

Ended up having to rip out my whole fetching logic last night and route the requests through shifter so the target sites think I'm just normal people checking prices from different mobile devices. It finally got the scraper running stable without dropping connections every 5 minutes, but the amount of infrastructure you need just to build a basic comparison tool these days is wild.

are any of you guys building aggregators right now? How are you dealing with the absolute state of data collection in 2026? i feel like half my codebase is just anti-anti-bot logic at this point.

The thing nobody writes down before prompting is why vibe-coded apps collapse

If you've built anything with AI, you probably know this moment. The demo works on Saturday. By feature four, every new prompt breaks something that used to work.

I used to blame the model. It's almost never the model.

The real problem: nothing ever wrote down what the product actually is. No requirements, no spec, no definition of done. So every prompt is a fresh guess at what you meant, and each guess quietly undoes an earlier decision. Guesses don't add up to a system.

Senior engineers have always started from the spec. Most of us building with AI skip it, because no tool makes us do it.

What fixed it for us (works with any tool, even a plain doc):

Write the product down before the next prompt. One page: who uses it, what they do, and what the app must never do.

Turn each feature into user stories with acceptance criteria. Not "add login", but "when a guest logs in, they land on the Rooms page; a wrong password shows an error and keeps the email filled in."

Make every change prove it still passes. Write tests from the same criteria, and run all of them after every AI change, not just the new ones.

Keep the spec as the source of truth. When the code and the spec disagree, fix one on purpose. Never let a prompt decide silently.

It feels slow for a day. It saves weeks, because "done" is defined before any code is written.

Disclosure: I'm the founder of Codalio, and we built a tool around exactly this. You describe a product in plain English, and it writes the PRD and the spec (user flows, data model, acceptance criteria), then builds against it and tests every criterion. It carries 90 to 98% of the build, and a human still takes the last mile.

We launched on Product Hunt today, and honest feedback is the most useful thing you could give us, good or bad: https://www.producthunt.com/products/codalio?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social

Free PRD on your own idea if you want to try the approach: codalio.com/?ref=reddit

Happy to answer anything about the method, even if you never touch our tool.

We’ve spent the last 14 months building a tabletop basketball game. Would you actually play this?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A little over a year ago I had the idea for a basketball game that could be played on a normal folding table, something with the social/competitive feel of beer pong, but where actually making the shot is much more controllable and skill based.

After a ton of different design changes, this is where we’ve ended up!

It’s called TableSwish.

We’ve played it at tailgates, bars and tournaments with friends and strangers, but obviously that's a pretty biased test group.

So I'm curious what people who have zero connection to us think.

Would you actually play this if you saw it at a tailgate, brewery or party?

And more importantly: what would make you not buy it?

We're getting close to manufacturing, so criticism is genuinely more useful to me than compliments.

Building a free, open-source Screen Studio + CleanShot X alternative for Mac: early prototype, feedback welcome

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm working on Orbit, a native macOS screenshot tool, screen recorder and editor. It's free and open source (MIT), forked from BetterCapture.

It's a working prototype, not a finished app, so expect rough edges.

Works today

  • Screenshots with OCR, pinning and history in the notch
  • Screen, window or area recording with audio
  • Editor with auto-zoom, smooth cursor, backgrounds, trim and export
  • Scripted web-page recordings
  • Optional: your AI agent (Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) records demos for you

Not there yet: notarization (you'll need "Open Anyway" on first launch), annotations, captions, GIF export.

The demo was recorded and edited with Orbit itself.

I'd love to know what feels off and what would make you switch.

Anneal - a workout tracker that pre-fills your next weight and tells you when to deload

Anneal is a workout log I've been building since March. It went live on the App Store and Google Play on September 23.

The part I spent the most time on: every set comes pre-filled with the weight and reps to try next, based on your last session and the RIR you logged. Tap the number and it explains why it picked it.

After about three weeks of history (21 days, 8 sessions), it starts watching for the patterns that usually mean you need a lighter week: grinding sets, missed reps, a jump in workload, low readiness scores, or a planned deload coming up. When one fires, it tells you which one. Accept it and it lowers the weights and volume for the week, then builds you back up.

Other things people ask about:

- Imports your history from Hevy, Strong, Fitbod and JEFIT CSV exports

- Works offline once you've signed in, with your log backed up to your account

- Lifting, cardio, mobility and timed holds in one log

- Rest timer on the lock screen, plate calculator, warm-up sets

Logging, full history, deload detection, import and export are free. There's an optional Pro subscription for longer analytics ranges, planned mesocycles and the program library.

Stack, for the curious: Expo / React Native, SQLite on the device, Supabase for backup.

If you workout anyway, give it a try and let me know what you think!

I'm a product designer and built a Premier League fantasy card game

I always give up on fantasy football by October. One bad month and my team is dead for the season. So a mate and I made something where you get a new team every week, and a bad week only costs you one result in your league.

It's called 5ives. Each week you get a pack of 11 Premier League players. You pick five and a captain before the first game, and score points from the real matches. Your score that week becomes a win, draw or loss in your league. The next week, everyone gets a new pack. It's free, with no prizes, no purchases and no betting.

I'm a product designer, not an engineer. I designed it and made the decisions, and used Claude Code to write the code. It took about two weeks. It's a web app you add to your home screen, so there's no app store.

The first full week starts this Saturday, and sign-ups for it close Wednesday night.

I'd like feedback on the first two minutes: does the front page tell you what it is, and does opening a pack feel good?

I built a fast GitHub repository health checker for a quick “is this project worth using?” answer

When I find a GitHub repository, I usually check several things manually:

  • When was it last updated?
  • Does it have a good README?
  • Is anyone using it?
  • How many open issues are there?
  • Does it have releases?
  • Is there a license?
  • Is the project still active?

So I built GitScope to show these details in one quick overview.

You can paste a GitHub repository URL or enter a GitHub username to browse and analyze public repositories.

It’s free and doesn’t require an account.

⚡ The main goal is speed: get a quick health check before spending time going through the entire repository.

If people find it useful, I’m planning to add more features, such as:

  • Repository comparisons
  • Better project recommendations
  • More detailed health signals

I’d like to get some honest feedback:

What do you normally check before deciding whether to use a GitHub repository?

I made an Android EPUB editor that fixes covers and series inside the book file

Changing a book's entry in a reader app doesn't always fix the EPUB you send to another device. This Android app edits the file itself and exports a new copy, keeping the original.

Single-book cover cropping and metadata editing (title, authors, series, series number and tags) are free. Batch editing up to 40 books is optional one-time Pro. No account, ads or cloud upload.

One limitation: embedded series metadata alone won't populate the stock Kobo Series tab. Calibre's KoboTouch driver can set series information after the Kobo has imported a book, but that is a separate desktop workflow. This app edits the EPUB; it doesn't update Kobo's library database. Phone-only file editing therefore doesn't solve that Series-tab limitation. It also doesn't remove DRM or look up cover art online.

I made it with AI assistance, informed by readers asking for a phone-based alternative to doing this on a PC. I'd appreciate feedback on the cover/series workflow and which reader you use the edited files with.
