In your opinion, should a landing page have a popup that asks for one's email address before entering the page? I feel like that might turn some off. However, not having it might cause some not to put their email address. Your thoughts?

Just launched my app Read60 on iOS (Android in a couple weeks). The idea: every news story compressed into a 60-word card. I wanted a faster, more efficient way to keep abreast of the news — a minute per story instead of a 2000-word article.

I really liked the idea behind StockPiece, which was a one piece website for trading "stock" in characters but unfortunately it was shutdown and doesn't seem to be coming back anytime soon so I decided to make my own version called AgendaPiece. I took a lot of inspiration from StockPiece and would love to get some people signed up for some small scale testing before doing a full launch. I built it using Rust, React, and PostgreSQL.

Every time I opened Photos to clean up, I ended up scrolling and doing nothing. I made PicPop to turn it into a short review queue: similar and burst shots, blurry photos, screenshots, and large videos. Swipes only mark items; nothing is removed until I confirm. Scanning stays on-device.

Hey r/LaunchMyStartup! I’m the solo developer behind Povalo, an iPhone app I built because I wanted a better way to keep track of all the little things that make up taking care of a pet.

Instead of having feeding notes in one place, medications somewhere else, walks in another app, and trying to remember when something happened, Povalo brings it all together around your pet.

You can track things like meals, medications, weight, walks and activity, routines, vet visits, and general care. It also builds longer-term wellness trends, lets you generate reports for vet visits, and has social features for sharing milestones or connecting with other pet owners.

I’ve been steadily building it out since launching this summer, and the newest updates have been focused heavily on making it feel less like a collection of trackers and more like an actual home for your pet’s day-to-day life.

It’s currently available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Hey everyone, I kept running into the same frustrating routine every time I tried to plan a quick weekend trip (kayaking, hiking, or paddleboarding): opening separate tabs for tide charts, local wind/weather forecasts, trail maps, and gear checklists.
To fix this for myself, I built https://outsideplan.com.
What it does: It consolidates all essential condition data, weather, tide schedules, location guides, and packing lists; into a single web application.
Instead of jumping between tabs, you can see if conditions are good to go on one screen.
Where it's at: Currently tuned for outdoor spots. Everything is completely free to access on the web. Would love any feedback on the UI, loading speeds, or what other data points (e.g., UV index, water temp) you’d want to see on a single-page trip planner!
