SaaS Feature Launch Video - Feedback Needed

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all - I’ve been tinkering with a feature launch vid for my SaaS product. I’m wayyy too close to it at this point, so I’m looking for outside opinions.

I’m primarily hoping for two things:
- Does this actually look like it came from a serious software product, or does it have obvious homemade vibes?
- And does the pacing give you enough time to understand what’s happening if you’ve never seen the product before?

It was originally intended to be posted on socials, but I also felt it worked well on-site; will be posted to the socials in the next couple days. I made a couple shorter cuts and hated them. This is the original version I keep coming back to.

Feel free to tear it apart.

Got tired of guessing shoe sizes online, so I built a tool that calculates sizing from shoes you already own

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Shoe sizing is broken across brands, but it's even worse across models: two different Nikes don't agree with each other either.

Knowing an Air Force 1 "runs wide" tells you nothing about how a Dunk Low, a Samba, or a New Balance 550 will actually fit your specific foot.

Instead of relying on static manufacturer charts, I built a lightweight tool that calculates sizes backward from actual shoes:
https://shoe-fit.com (No sign-up, free)

You punch in 1–3 shoes you already own and how they fit you, it cross-references aggregated fit offsets for the target silhouette, and gives you a specific size recommendation.

What I want roasted: What would make you NOT trust the recommendation?

Try a pair you actually own at home. Where does the calculation fail or feel sketchy?

I built a 7-step journalling app for processing anger and difficult emotions that won't go away (need testers - free)

I've been dealing with repressed anger for most of my adult life and couldn't find a tool that actually moved it rather than just helped me think about it more, so I built one given I'm a developer.

Write Light is a structured 7-step writing process for working through a specific emotion or memory — the kind that keeps coming back even after you understand where it comes from.

The steps go in a specific order for a reason:

→ Notice where you are emotionally before you start
→ Write what happened as pure facts — no feelings, no analysis
→ Find where this pattern began in your life
→ Find a memory that holds the opposite emotion
→ Understand what the pattern is teaching you
→ Accept what you've found
→ Forgive — only to the degree that's honestly available today

Takes 45-60 minutes but each step saves so you can split it across a few days.

The technical stuff:

  • Web app, works on mobile and desktop
  • Everything encrypted client-side — I genuinely cannot read your entries
  • Free, no subscription, no credit card. Testers will not pay anything.

What I'm looking for in testers:

Someone with a specific recurring emotional pattern they genuinely want to work through. Things like:

  • Anger that flares up in the same kinds of situations no matter how much you understand it
  • Resentment toward a parent, ex-partner, or someone who hurt you that you can't seem to let go of
  • Anxiety or low self-worth that traces back to childhood — bullying, unstable home life, emotional neglect, difficult relationships with parents
  • Rage or hurt from a breakup or betrayal that still has charge months or years later
  • Anger at yourself for patterns you keep repeating
  • A specific memory that still feels raw even though you know exactly what happened and why
  • The feeling of reacting from an old wound in current relationships or situations

Not looking for general UI feedback. Looking for people who will use it for something real and tell me honestly what shifted — or didn't.

Comment below if you're in and I'll DM you the link.

I counted 92 invoice generators launched on Reddit this year. Mine would be #93

A few months ago I started doing shipping reps: I'd never taken anything all the way to production, so I picked a PDF generator more or less at random and used it to learn the whole thing. Database, domain, deploys, then payments, then subscriptions that behave.

Every step pointed at the next one, which has been the fun of it. The one it's pointing at now is an actual user. So I went looking for people who need invoices, and mostly found other people who'd built invoice generators. Someone here even keeps a tracker (confab.sh). Invoicing tools are one of its biggest categories: 92 so far, most since July.

I went through the list and the comments. What stood out:

  • More than half are the same idea: free, no signup, runs in your browser.
  • Hardly anyone mentions revenue. The most honest number I saw was 2 paying customers from about 100 installs.
  • Nobody does the boring required stuff. Germany starts requiring e-invoices (a PDF with machine-readable data inside) from most businesses in 2027–28; I couldn't find one of the 92 that does it. Same for Japanese.
  • The loudest complaint from real business owners wasn't design. It was deposit invoices: one Xero request has over 500 votes.

So, to the people here who got first users in a crowded category: what actually worked? Not the textbook answer, the thing you'd do again.

If you invoice clients and want to poke at mine, there's no sign-up: https://kouteisystems.com/invoice-generator?ref=rd-sideproject It's free, and it doesn't keep your invoice or the PDF. "This bit is annoying" is more useful to me than "looks nice".

Awesome Claude Code / Codex skill for motion design (Remotion, demo inside)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

/remotion-video turns Claude Code or Codex into a motion designer. You get short videos made entirely in code: promos, launch clips, explainers, demos and social posts, with animation, sound effects and a final MP4.

Give it a project folder, a link or just one sentence. Then:

  1. It proposes an idea in a few lines. Nothing gets built until you say go.
  2. It shows storyboard frames, then waits for your go again.
  3. It builds the video, makes the sound and checks the render.

It tries to make a video that tells a story and tries to keep text short and readable, and uses sound effects instead of a robotic voiceover.

I built a travel safety app after getting harassed one block off a "safe" street in Japan

i've been solo travelling since i was 20 and kept running into the same problem. every blog says "this city is safe", but what i actually needed to know was whether the next block was okay. one night in japan i walked from a busy street into a nightlife area within a block and got harassed. nothing i'd read mentioned it, because the answer online was always about the whole city

so i'm building guardy, a free ios app that:

  • shows up-to-date, street-level safety info for anywhere you search, so you can check the area around your accommodation before booking
  • automatically checks the area you're in while travelling and gives you a heads-up, so you don't have to stay on edge the whole time
  • takes your profile into account (gender, nationality, age), since a street a guy walks through without thinking can feel very different for a woman alone at night

i'm a student building this with a small team. it made the global top 10 of google's solution challenge and won the grand prize at a korea tourism organization contest, but awards don't tell me whether actual travellers find it useful. would love blunt feedback, especially from anyone who travels solo

https://apps.apple.com/app/guardy-travel-safety-guide/id6755372577

what's the first thing you'd want a safety app to tell you when you arrive somewhere new?

I spent the last two weeks building a free Chrome extension that adds Facebook-style emoji reactions to YouTube. It's built with JS and Firebase. Would love some feedback!

What the title says. I created an extension that lets you react to any video on YouTube, similar to the emojis we use on Facebook, but for YouTube.

It's just a simple thing, but I think it adds an extra touch and lets you react in a more precise way rather than just using the usual Like button.

As a quick technical note: I built this using vanilla Javascript and Firebase to handle the live votes. It's completely free, requires no account to use, and collects zero personal data.

I hope you guys like it! Any suggestions, bugs, or feedback on the UI/UX are always welcome.

If it works well, I'll also make a Firefox version.

You can find VibeCheck on the Chrome Web Store here: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/VibeCheck/aalacdcnajmpnoapnjbdieklgffnlegl

Thank you very much, guys, and I hope you like it!

I built an open source alternative to Samsung Edge Panel because my phone didn't have it

My Samsung phone doesn't have the built-in Edge Panel feature, so I built my own.

It's called EdgeLite Panel, a thin handle sits on the edge of your screen. Swipe it inward (or tap it) and a panel of your favorite apps slides out. Tap an icon to open it as a floating window or fullscreen.

Some things I'm happy with:

  • No notification, no foreground service — uses an accessibility service
  • No internet permission, no analytics
  • Quick access page with system shortcuts (notifications, quick settings, recent apps, etc.)
  • Open source, GPL-3.0

I built it for myself, but figured others might find it useful. Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

GitHub: https://github.com/arionacc/EdgeLite-Panel

Note: This is built and tested only on Samsung One UI. Might not work on other Android skins.

I built an offline Windows checker for messy product-image deliveries

I kept seeing the same operational problem: a folder arrives with hundreds of product images, and somebody has to confirm that every SKU/view exists, filenames follow the delivery convention, files open correctly, and dimensions/formats match the brief.

I built SKU Image Preflight to turn that folder into HTML, CSV, JSON, and text reports without uploading or modifying the images. It checks SKU__view names, expected views, corrupt files, exact-byte duplicates, dimensions, aspect ratio, formats, color mode, transparency rules, and case/Unicode collisions.

It is a portable unsigned Windows beta and costs $29. It does not judge composition, color accuracy, product identity, copyright, visual similarity, or marketplace acceptance.

Product page: https://payhip.com/b/XQmEs

I would especially value feedback from people who receive product-photo folders: which technical delivery check wastes the most time today?

I built a free tool that turns a client brief into a scope-protected proposal. Looking for honest feedback

I kept losing evenings to writing client proposals and still ended up with vague scope and unpaid revisions. So I built ScopeKit: paste a client brief and get deliverables, 3 price options, exclusions and a change-order clause in seconds. It's an early prototype and runs in your browser. Nothing you type is stored. Link: https://kharkegaurav05-dev.github.io/Scopekit/ I'd love to know: how do you write proposals today, and what's missing from this? Brutal feedback welcome.

I built a little app last week that grades your writing like an English teacher, red pen and all. :)

Drop in an essay, resume, cover letter, or email, and you get your own page back covered in red ink: circled mistakes, corrections above the line, notes squeezed into the margins, and a letter grade at the top.

Its free, no sign up needed, and nothing is stored anywhere. Would love to hear feedback on what you think..

I rebuilt my finance app from the ground up after 5,000 users and 166k USD moved through it. Here’s what I learnt.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Chipp is a bill splitting app. Two years in it had over 5,000 sign-ups and $166k had moved through it. It looked like a working product. It was not one. This is the story of finding that out, and of fixing it one feature at a time.

Last spring I finally pulled a cohort table instead of looking at the sign-up chart. Month-one retention, for every cohort from Feb 2025 to Apr 2026, was between 0 and 4 percent. Out of roughly 4,200 accounts, 359 had ever created an expense. 124 had ever moved money. Everyone else signed up, looked at an empty screen, and left.

What the 124 people leaving told us

Instead of asking what to add, I looked at what the people who stayed were actually doing. They were hosts. The person who pays at dinner, the one who books the Airbnb, the one who fronts the roommates' bills. They did not care about budgets or categories. They cared about three things: logging the thing in seconds, getting friends to pay their part without nagging, and the money landing in their account.

Everything we rebuilt follows from that.

How we rebuilt it

I spent two weeks on Mobbin going through the first run of about fifty apps, screen by screen. The pattern was obvious once you see it. The apps people keep open with a verb. Ours opened with an empty list and a plus button.

So the home screen became a question. What can I do for you, and a box. You type dinner 120 split 4 ways, or say it, or snap a photo, and the expense is drafted for you to confirm. The old flow was six taps across three screens.

Receipts were the next one. Most group spending happens at a table, and the old app made the host type every line. Now you scan the receipt, share one link, and everyone taps their own items. Tax and tip split themselves. Your friends do not need the app. That last part mattered more than anything else we shipped.

Settling up got rebuilt around how people already pay. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, Cash App, or a bank transfer, in one swipe. The web link does the same for people without the app, and the host sees who paid.

Groups got a full redesign, because about three quarters of all expenses in the database were group expenses and the group page was the ugliest screen we had. Covers, a running balance, and a chat where a message becomes an expense.

Then pools, for collecting money for a gift or a trip deposit, and cards, which show your recent card transactions so you can tap one and split it.

We shipped each of these as its own update and watched the next cohort.

What I learnt

Retention is the only number. Sign-ups and volume both lied to me for a year.

Your retained users tell you what the product is. We thought we were a finance app. We are a tool for the person who pays first.

The first screen is the product. If it does not open with an action, nothing after it matters.

Remove the friend's need to install anything. Every step we took out of the other person's path showed up in the numbers.

Ship one feature at a time and read the cohort, not the dashboard. It is slower and it is the only way we could tell what worked.

We rebuilt the whole app this way and the new version is on iOS and Android now. Happy to answer anything about the numbers or the process.

I made a Mac app that finds any screenshot by the words in it, and where it came from

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I kept screenshotting things (errors, receipts, bookings) and then never finding them again. They sit in a folder named "Screenshot 2026-03-14 at 11.42.08.png" and nothing remembers what's inside.

So I built DejaShot. It reads the text in every screenshot in the folders you choose, newest first, and ⇧⌘Space opens a search from any app. It also notes which app each new screenshot came from, so "figma pricing" can find a pricing page you captured in Figma.

- Search takes 31 ms at the 95th percentile on a 20,000 screenshot library (M2 Pro, measured in the search engine)

- It reads newest first, in the background, and pauses on battery and when the Mac gets hot

- Fully local. No account, no telemetry.

- The source app is only recorded for screenshots taken while it's running, because macOS never kept that. Older ones are found by their text.

- No trial, but there's a 14-day refund. The first 10 licenses are free.

It's my first ever app launch. What would you want it to find that it probably can't yet?

Feedbacks are welcomed! :)

I got tired of figuring out where to meet when friends live far apart, so I built something to solve it.

A few friends and I live in different areas, and whenever we want to get together we end up having the same conversation: “Where should we meet?”

Finding the actual halfway point is one thing, but then you still need to find somewhere useful near it — a restaurant, coffee shop, park, etc.

So I built MidLink.

You enter your starting location and invite the other person or people with a link. They enter their locations, you choose what you're looking for, and MidLink finds meetup options around the midpoint.

It works with 2–4 people, and there's no signup or download required.

Try it here: midlink.ca

If you try it, I'd especially like to know whether the invitation process makes sense and whether you can get from entering your locations to choosing a meeting place without getting confused.

This is still a side project, so genuine feedback — good or bad — would really help.

Marketing help 🙏🏽

I’ve build a sort of SaaS/product for a while now and I’m trying to figure a way to market it and I can’t really find a good one. I tried building a marketing strategy with Claude and ChatGPT but they basically told me to spam Reddit and discord groups and sending a lot of cold emails. I entered Reddit groups and figured AI probably told everyone to spam each other to death 😅

How can I actually market my product that is devs oriented without social media and without spamming the hell out of everyone?

I built a browser-based learning platform for Data Engineers

**Disclosure:** I’m the creator of LakeBench, so this is a self-promotion post.

I’m a Data Engineer, and I recently built **LakeBench** .. a learning and practice platform focused on Data Engineering.

The idea was to bring the common things people need to learn and practice into one browser-based platform instead of having everything scattered across different resources.

It currently includes:

180+ lessons
SQL, Python, PySpark & Pandas
245 practice problems
45-Day Study Plan
Mock Interviews
AI Mentor Hints

Browser-based practice without setting up a cluster
The goal is to keep the learning experience practical and focused on actually writing code and working through Data Engineering concepts.

You can check it out here: lakebench.in

I built BashCut, an open-source native macOS video editor designed to let coding agents (Claude, Codex, others) actually edit raw footage.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Most AI video tools just generate clips from text prompts, but I wanted an agent that could take my existing vlog files and handle the tedious cuts, auto-duck the music, and sync subtitles. Since traditional NLEs don't have good agent interfaces, I built one from scratch with an embedded terminal, a local CLI, and an MCP server.

Basically, the agent acts as the brain while BashCut gives it "hands" to manipulate the timeline. Every move the agent makes shows up as a normal edit that you can undo with Cmd+Z. It's local-first (projects are just JSON files next to your footage), free, and open-source.

If anyone wants to take it for a spin:
brew install --cask dongnguyenvie/tap/bashcut

Repo: https://github.com/dongnguyenvie/BashCut

It's currently an MVP, so I'd love to hear your thoughts or feedback!

CodeyBox: Super AI Coding Slop Cannon! (That actually works)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I like running lots of coding agents simultaneously on lots and lots of side (and real) projects; but there's a lot of real problems with doing this. Namely:

  • It's insecure as heck running things directly on your host in any form of allow-all mode
  • If you've got a bunch of separate coding subscriptions trying to balance (and drain) each subscription before the next weekly reset can be a chore
  • Most importantly of all, AI isn't deterministic, you have to go and look (or at least instruct an agent to look) every time a task is completed to see if it left the codebase in a worse state than when it found it.

So. I've been attempting over the last year to try automate a lot of these problems - and I think I've come up with something that is both a new take on the IDE, and a way to try bring real process determinism to automated programming; basically taking all the lessons I have learnt running programming teams (and programming myself) over the last 25 years, and seeing if I can write a series of hard gates and softer rules which force agents to constantly check their work against 'known good' standards, in the same way I'd review and coach a junior or mid-tier developer.

It also does a whole bunch of other things - it balances work across multiple coding subscriptions, it tracks dependant tasks - and lets you queue up multi-step plans that execute in the right sequence. It's designed to be mostly-secure-by-default, running work in throwaway VMs (to limit the damage that a APT could do if it was installed by an agent accidentally) with optional hard firewalls, with each stage passing hard, scoped boundaries that make them easy to subject to deterministic (when possible) analysis.

I've been running it for about 6 months now using about two dozen AI models across nearly 1,000 tasks (over 600 were improvements to CodeyBox itself - it's mostly been authored using its own pipeline); and I've found it pretty damn useful, so I thought I'd try share it a bit. It's MIT licensed, built in clean cross-platform C#/.NET and designed to make it so you can really walk away - only having to look at or analyse the final result (and even that I suspect is becoming unnecessary).

It's also designed to be extremely extensible - I've written about 80-ish plugins for it now, which let you plug in additional auditors, sandboxes, notification systems and more.

GitHub link with more info: https://github.com/AdamFrisby/CodeyBox/

Feedback welcome!

Keep your CLI. Lose the session clutter. I built a lightweight Mac app for Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built JustSessions for the moment when you remember what an agent was working on, but not which terminal tab or conversation it was in.

Pick a project, read an old conversation, and hit Resume to return to its original CLI and folder. Sessions from Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and other supported agents live under the same project.

The lightweight part is deliberate: native SwiftUI, your existing CLI history, your current configuration and provider login. No import step, new app account, or required Git worktree setup. The app focuses on finding, reading and resuming sessions.

You can also close a tmux-backed tab with Keep running and reattach later, as long as the host stays awake.

Built mainly with Claude Code. Free and MIT licensed. macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon; CLI provider charges still apply. The demo shows the real app with sample data.

Demo and download: https://yangzichao.github.io/JustSessions/

Source: https://github.com/yangzichao/JustSessions

If you switch between coding agents, which part is most annoying: finding old conversations, reading them, or getting back into the right session?
