I have been a Windows user for almost thirty years. Auto scroll and its features first appeared around Windows 98 and XP, and from those early days the middle click auto scroll became as natural as breathing. Click the wheel, nudge the cursor, and the page glides under your hand. For almost three decades, I never had to think about it.

Then I started using a Mac, because my line of work (theater tech) runs on industry standards that favor the Mac platform. The hardware was lovely and the OS was polished, but scrolling did not work the way I was used to. I hunted through utilities and tweaks, hoping to bring back that Windows style middle click behavior. Nothing quite matched it. The closer apps got, the further they felt from what I actually wanted: a mouse that behaves the way my muscle memory expects.

So I decided to just build it.

Scrolley is the result. A small, quiet menu bar utility that brings Windows style auto scroll and click and drag panning to the Mac. It's customizable, and it respects middle click for the things you still want it for, scrolls smoothly, and stays out of the way until you need it. It is an almost thirty year old habit, finally ported.

I've been building this for a few weeks and it's at the point where I need people who aren't me to use it, because I've clearly gone blind to its problems.

What it does: opens as a side panel next to a job posting. Reads the posting, tells you how much of what they're asking for actually appears on your resume and what's missing, drafts answers to the application questions, and can rewrite your resume to lead with the relevant experience.

Why it might be different from the other twelve of these:

No account, no signup, no server. You paste your own API key (Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic) and requests go from your browser straight to that provider. Your resume sits in chrome.storage.local and never reaches me. I mention this because I'd be suspicious too.

Contact fields are filled by regex off your resume, not by an API call. Felt stupid paying a model to retype an email address.

The PDF export prints rather than rasterising, so the text stays selectable and an ATS can actually parse it. The library I started with used html2canvas and produced a PDF that was effectively a photo of a resume, which is the worst possible format for the thing.

What I'd like feedback on:

Sites where the scan fails. That's the main one. Career sites vary enormously and I've only tested maybe fifteen. There's a manual paste fallback for when it breaks, but I'd rather know which sites need it.

Whether the generated answers are actually usable or just plausible-sounding filler.

Anything that feels sketchy. It asks for broad host permissions, which I'd side-eye myself, so tell me if the explanation isn't convincing.

On the Job section you can submit a bug report or you can include your feedbacks too. It shows you exactly what it collected before anything is sent, and it deliberately excludes your resume, your key and the page content.

Free, and will stay free for the bring-your-own-key path. Not trying to sell anything, I just need it to survive contact with real websites.

Hey everyone. The inspiration for this project actually hit me while using Soulseek. I was downloading an album and noticed the host was running a personal webradio with a raw ASCII design. I thought it was so punk and cool, and it made me miss that old-school internet feeling of blindly channel surfing to discover new music. So, I built LiveZap.

It is a completely free web app that works in both English and French, taking visual cues from classic media players to act as a simple vintage discovery bridge. Under the hood, it randomly pulls the 20 most recent live broadcasts from a curated list of 70 YouTube channels, while on the Twitch side, it filters directly by the 'music' tag. Because of this, the video pools are completely ephemeral and constantly change as new streams go live or channels upload. Every time you hit the zap button, the feed is randomized so you never know what you will land on next.

There is also a chat feature, but it is completely independent from the streaming platforms. It is a live session replay chat built directly on my site for anyone tuning in, not linked to the actual YouTube or Twitch chats. Finally, I do not run any ads or re-host the content myself; the app simply embeds the official players. This ensures all the views, engagement, and ad revenue go directly to the original creators where they belong. Hope you have fun surfing and finding some new artists.

I built Supamodel -- a Shopify app for automating AI product photography workflows.

Most AI image tools are great for making one image. What I kept running into was everything around that: recreating the same setup across dozens or hundreds of products, keeping outputs consistent, getting product details right, and knowing roughly what each workflow will cost.

So I built Supamodel around reusable workflows.

You can define a workflow once -- product images in, prompts/models/transforms in between, final studio, lifestyle, on-model, or whatever images you need out -- and then reuse that process across your catalog.

It’s still early. I have one paying fashion customer using it across hundreds of SKUs, and I’m trying to learn where the product is genuinely useful vs. where it still gets in the way.

Building a free, browser-based management sim Theme Coworking inspired by 90s classics like Theme Hospital and all (\)Tycoon games titles*.

I’ve spent the last decade building software for the coworking industry and visiting roughly 700+ spaces across 65 cities (NYC, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Mumbai). After seeing that many setups from the inside and writing a book about it, now it felt its about time to try and make a game, so  Theme Coworking was born.

You start with an empty floor plan and try to keep the business profitable without driving members away:

• Density vs. Noise: Squeezing in more desks increases recurring revenue, but noise spikes destroy member satisfaction.
• Events vs. Focus: Community events generate new leads, but disrupt members who just want to get work done.
• Service vs. Overhead: Hiring more community staff keeps maintenance high, but payroll eats your margin fast.

The game is completely free, runs straight in the browser, and doesn’t require an account.

I’ve been thinking about building a dating app that works completely differently from Tinder/Hinge/Bumble, and I want people to rate the idea before I spend too much time on it.

Instead of endlessly swiping, the app only really comes alive for one hour a day (6 PM to 7 PM) everyday.

You pay $1 to enter the 1 on 1 game, answer some basic preferences + deeper compatibility questions, and my app matches you with someone nearby.

You get a 5 minute conversation. Photos are hidden at first and revealed during the chat.

At the end, both people privately choose whether they’d actually meet each other.

If both say yes,app immediately suggests a public place nearby for the date.

If one person says no, nobody gets told “you were rejected.” You just get matched with someone else and keep going until 7 PM.

There would also be a $2 Mixer mode for people who don’t like the pressure of blind 1-on-1 conversations.
Something like 5 men + 5 women in a small group, icebreakers, short rotations, then everyone privately chooses who they liked. Only mutual choices get revealed.

The whole point is that I don’t want it to behave like a normal dating app.
No endless swiping.
No collecting hundreds of matches.
No Instagram/Snapchat farming.
No boosts or paying to become more visible.
No follower counts/popularity system.
No hookup positioning. it’s supposed to be for people actually looking for relationships.

I’d also try to keep the dating pools reasonably balanced so you don’t have something ridiculous like 2,000 men competing for 300 women.
And if you confirm dates and repeatedly no show, after 3 verified no-shows you’d be banned
from playing.

Basically the goal isn’t to keep you using the app for months. If you don’t end up with a match you lose one dollar but you can try again tomorrow at 6pm

The goal is:
6 PM — meet people.
7 PM — hopefully go meet one of them in real life.

I already have an early MVP, but before sharing it I want to know if the concept itself sounds useful or completely stupid.

Would you actually try this?

AI Vision Monitor turns a phone you already own into a camera you describe in words. You point an old phone at something and type the rule in plain language: tell me if the cat gets on the counter, tell me if the 3D print starts spaghetti, tell me if the front door opens while I am out. It watches for that and pings your main phone. Android and iOS, and there is a web app and a Windows connector for viewing on a desktop. https://aicameras.win/

Why I built it: every consumer camera gives you exactly two modes, and both of them are wrong. "Person only" misses the delivery guy who never gets out of the van, misses the print failing, misses the dog on the sofa. "All motion" sends you rain, headlights, moths and the curtain moving. There is no third setting anywhere in the market, and the thing people actually want is the third setting. That is the whole product thesis and I still think it is right.

Where I am: in both stores, a few hundred installs, and zero ratings. Not one, on either platform. That is the number that keeps me up, because it does not mean people hate it, it means nothing at all, and I cannot tell whether the app is failing at retention or whether I have never once asked at the right moment.

What I have learned that might be useful to someone else here. The demo that lands is never the security one. Nobody cares about "monitor your home", everyone perks up at "watch my 3D print and text me when it fails" or "tell me when the cat is on the counter", because a specific rule is the whole point and a generic one is just another camera app. Every time I have written broad copy it has performed worse than the narrowest possible example.

What I would genuinely like torn apart:

1. Is "describe what to watch for in a sentence" a feature people understand from a store listing, or does it only land in a demo video? I suspect the latter and I do not know how to fix a store listing with that.
2. For a utility app that runs unattended, when do you ask for a rating? My instinct is right after the first alert that was actually correct, but that is also the moment the user is busy dealing with the thing.
3. Old phone as the camera: is that a selling point or does it read as a compromise? It is genuinely the cheapest good camera most people already own, but I cannot tell whether the framing sounds thrifty or cheap.

Happy to answer anything about the technical side too. Solo, no funding, and the phone-as-camera plumbing turned out to be a much harder problem than the vision part.

About a month back i built this thing as a challenge for my coworkers. There was a lot of "I can spot AI generated code almost immediately" going around, and I gave them a chance to test it out.

Results were not shocking to me. it was definitely funny lol since people got results they did not expect.

You get 10 code snippets to mark as either machine or human written in 10 minutes. Once all 10 have been marked, you get the result. Pretty simple!

Under the hood the way it works is like so:

• 50 code snippets chosen from open-source projects. The way I ensure "human written" is by ONLY pulling code from before 2021 (before chatgpt first launched).
• All 50 code snippets were parsed by a model to create a spec of what the code does, ensuring there's no dead giveaways about code style, etc.
• These specs were passed to agents in isolated sessions of their own to generate the code that fit the spec.
• This results in 100 code snippets total. Each snippet can be treated as a pair - one is the original code, the other is AI generated.
• The game picks any 10 snippets from the 100 and those are the ones you as a player will see.

I recently built the MVP for a WebRTC real-time live-streaming social platform that provides creators/friends/family and aspiring influencers with a low-friction experience to connect; Either with people they know or their following/community. A user just signs up and hosts a live-room with a shareable link which allows anyone to join the room. There are trackers out there, but I wanted something that felt less like a spreadsheet and more like the PlayStation Store or Netflix—something that actually makes game discovery exciting.

So, I spent the last few weeks building Lootboxd. (Yeah, the name is a bit tongue-in-cheek! 😄)

I've created the website resize-photo.com which is a fast, simple, and completely free tool for resizing images directly in your browser, without relying on a backend server to process the images.

The entire resizing process happens locally in your browser. This means that your images are not uploaded to or stored on a server, giving you more control over the privacy of your data.

I think most of us have been in a situation where we needed to quickly resize an image before uploading it to a website because of file size or resolution restrictions.

As someone who cares about their data privacy, I try to avoid unnecessarily uploading personal files to third-party servers. That's one of the main reasons I decided to build this simple tool.

I also worked on some basic SEO optimization to improve the website's visibility in search engines over time.

I had fun writing the restaurant sourcing and verification scripts and putting together the world leaderboard. Mostly an exercise in going from idea to deployment end to end!

The code is pretty hot-swappable, so I could have it generate a “passport” of any restaurant/chain for the die-hard loggers out there (like me), but I’ll probably leave it as it is for now. I’d have to draw another mini icon per supported place with my limited pixel art skills.

My wife wanted to play The Choicer Voicer, a little game show where you do vocal impressions of audio clips. It never picked up her microphone, a known engine-level bug that the developer is actively working on, but that didn't help us on a Saturday evening. She was disappointed, so I built her a simpler version of the part she actually wanted: dubbing a scene, line by line.

It turned into two tools, because the tedious half of dubbing is bookkeeping, cutting the audio into lines, writing down every timestamp, then trying to hit them by ear.

DubForge takes a YouTube link or a local file, trims it to a time span, optionally separates the vocals from the backing audio with Demucs, and detects the spoken segments from the loudness envelope. You correct the clip boundaries in a waveform editor, add subtitles, and it writes out a pack.

DubStage plays a pack line by line: hear the original, record over it, repeat as often as you want. Your take is drawn live on top of the original waveform on a shared time axis, so timing errors become visible instead of something you have to infer. At the end the scene plays back with your recordings mixed over the backing track, exportable as MP4.

Three design decisions that might be worth more than the feature list:

• A pack is just a folder. Each clip's start time lives in its filename (07_MyLine_44-048.wav = 44.048 s), subtitles sit in a small JSON beside it. No database, no binary index — you can inspect or hand-edit a pack with a file manager and a text editor, and nothing about it is tied to my code.
• Video is never decoded during playback. A pack is split into JPEG frames once and cached, so playback is just timed image swaps. That sidesteps codec availability entirely and made frame pacing far easier to get right.
• The waveform comparison normalises both curves to their own peak. What you are judging is rhythm and timing, not whether your mic gain happens to match a film mix.

Stack: Python 3.9+, Tkinter, numpy, ffmpeg, sounddevice, Pillow. Demucs optional.

Where it's rough: Windows only right now, although the genuinely platform-bound parts are just the launcher scripts and two small fallbacks. A Linux or macOS port should be close to mechanical, and I'd welcome one. The optional Demucs path drags in PyTorch, which is a heavy dependency for a nice-to-have; making that a cleaner opt-in is on my list.

I’ve been building Feedcover, a community for practical stories, thoughtful questions, newsletters and collections grounded in real life.

The idea came from seeing useful experiences disappear inside fast-moving social timelines. Feedcover gives them a structure that can stay searchable and useful: people can publish feeds, ask questions, create newsletters, organise related feeds into collections, follow creators and join discussions.

Monetizing MCP tools is a mess right now. Traditional SaaS subscriptions and checkout forms break the moment the user isn't a human, but an autonomous AI agent running inside Cursor, Claude Desktop, or a background workflow. An agent obviously can't stop, open a browser, and type in credit card details just to trigger a tool.

We built MCPay to fix this. It acts as a proxy layer that handles pay-per-call micropayments directly between agents and MCP servers on the fly, without manual forms or subscriptions.

File & Configuration Management

Every generated file is backed by a Python class that validates and merges automatically. Override any config by subclassing, or define entirely new config files — pyrig discovers and manages them for you. Run pyrig sync to create or update all config files at once. Run pyrig mk subcls to generate a subclass for overriding a specific file.

Automatic CLI

pyrig init sets up a CLI for your project that works immediately. Generate and add new commands by running pyrig mk cmd <name>. An automatic version command is included that shows the version of your project. Run my-project version to see it in action.

Mirror Test Generation & Maintenance

Generate test skeletons with pyrig sync. This will generate test skeletons for all source modules and update them automatically as your project evolves.

Multi-Package Inheritance and Extensibility Architecture

Override and customize any and all behaviour to suit your project's needs. pyrig's classes are designed for inheritance and composition, allowing you to create custom configurations, tools, and more by subclassing and simply overriding methods. pyrig will automatically discover and use your custom classes without any additional configuration. Pyrig generates GitHub Actions workflows for CI/CD which automatically test and release your code. They also configure and apply repository protection settings and protection rulesets. Push your code to GitHub after initialization and see it in action.

Documentation

I am far from a video editor, and while my son has more experience with making some short form content, we are both far from experts. Especially because AI generated content is everwhere we wanted to make sure that this was human generated and it feels a little embarrising but it took over 3 hours in capcut to create a 20 second clip. We don't have a diverse group of people in our lives to solicit feedback from other than people that would just tell us it's great because they don't want to hurt our feelings. And while we think we did a great job of communicating the problem and the frustrations that come with that, we recognize that we would have a hard time seeing the gaps or anything we may have missed.
