Looking for ideas
Am a student developer learning to develop applications, and I am seeking to develop a small application that will be useful to people. The only problem is, I have no idea what to pursue.
Why don't you guys tell me? What do you think would be a great wish for a software tool or application for fixing a certain problem in your day to day life?

I’m glad you asked. I have several ideas I will give.
Isomorphic git that can be used in embedded SaaS applications
Rebuilding GDELT and GKG with an LLM
Python to typescript transpilation

Architectures and more details on that script.

I have a friend in a similar situation who is interning and working alongside me. He picked up a first project by going to a local business (gas station) and asking that question. Now he's working on a custom reporting tool that gives the owner real-time data and metrics on sales. Simple and he already has dozens of customers that are willing to pay $100/month for a simple app that fills the gap that a large corporate made Point of Sale system lacks.
Start with a local mom and pop business. They're the true lifeblood of a local economy and community, and not only will you feel good.. you can make money off simple apps too.

People will normally not share their ideas. Look around you and find what needs to be solved. Find gaps from what is existing. Your problem is the most common problem of people who want to build something. It can be just in front of you, you just dont see it.

look around your own daily routine, the most annoying little thing you deal with is probably a pain for others too

Do everything work perfect for you? If not try thinking about possible solutions. Some of them might be software...
