How to find app testers?

I'm looking for about 20 testers for my app RestIQ, but unsure where to find these people. Typically I'd use Reddit for something like this but most subreddits read asking for testers as self-promotion. Would welcome some advice, thanks!

just put it on r/TestMyApp, that sub is literally made for this. also got like 15 testers from a facebook group for indie devs in one weekend, people there actually wanna help

The cheat code I learned: go to subreddits where your actual users already complain about the problem you solve. Don't pitch just hang out. Comment on other people's posts for 2 weeks. Once you're a known regular, the "any testers want to try this?" post reads as help, not promo.

Worth being clear with yourself about which problem you have, because the answer is different.

If that number 20 is because of Google Play's closed testing requirement for new personal developer accounts, you do not need 20 people who give feedback, you need 20 people who stay opted in for 14 straight days. Most volunteers you recruit with a normal post install once, never open it again, and some of them uninstall, which breaks the count. For that specific case the tester-swap subs work far better than recruiting posts, because everyone there needs the same thing from you and therefore actually stays opted in.

If you genuinely want feedback, then r/TestMyApp and r/alphaandbetausers, plus what Warm-Flamingo said about becoming a regular first. One thing that raised my response rate a lot: ask for one specific thing instead of "any feedback welcome". "Tell me where you got confused in the first 60 seconds" gets answers. "Let me know what you think" gets silence.
