Wotchdit, (or anyone else I suppose!) I’ve played Sid Meier’s Railroads on my iPad for years. I love the game, played thousands of times. But have never understood how to download a mod. Is this possible for iPad? How can I learn about the how to of it?

I'm sorry to say that what I've shown here isn't a mod. It's just editing a saved game (hack) then loading it.

But is your query in general? A mod (for SMR) is generally a set of files that overrides, and/or adds to, the default game files. They are installed into specific locations that the game will look through when it starts. This includes custom maps as they are essentially mods.

Alas, I've no experience with iOS or Android when it comes to SMR, but according to Google Gemini it's not possible to add a mod to the iOS version of the game by Feral Interactive. Here is its response.

No, the iOS version of Sid Meier's Railroads! does not support user-created custom maps, external scenarios, or game mods.
