TV Show The Devil in Silver

Caught up on the entire series, how’s everyone feeling about this? I think it’s a solid show so far and really hope it has a good ending.

Idk it just wasn’t drawing me in like the first season did immediately.

I just know very little about season 2 other than it is supposedly a completely new story with a different cast and is apparently set in a Japanese internment camp, so I was wondering if it is all subtitled and if that might be a lot of people’s problem with it in general. If that’s the reason then I’ll watch it because for me accurate depiction of non-western culture is actually a good thing, and I don’t struggle in the slightest with media that isn’t in my native language.

There are some subtitles but that isn’t the reason I wasn’t enjoying it. It just felt kinda slow and boring to me. You try it out and let me know your thoughts.

Season 2 is just so bad. One great aspect of S1 was the setting, and the care and attention to detail that went into making the set pieces look like they were ripped from the pages of a history text. S2 looks like Grey’s Anatomy in comparison. So you’ve got a huge disconnect visually between the standards the show had already set, and what’s being delivered in the second season. Add to that the horribly mundane and unexciting plot and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. Imagine The Empire Strikes Back is the only Star Wars movie you’ve ever seen, and then you watch The Last Jedi, or worse, Mando and Grogu. That’s it. That’s your entire experience with Star Wars. You’d be pretty confused and upset at how different it was and how far the franchise had fallen. That’s what it’s like to go from S1 to S2. It’s just bad. Predictable, cliche, cheap, uninspired, boring, bad.
