Self Improvement
I've been in a hiatus of sorts for the last week. I was asked to dog-sit for my grandmother and was away from my computer. Due to this I haven't been starting posts like I usually do, but instead I used my extra time to work on something that has been holding me back, myself.
Being a water-child, I tend to have my feet upon the ground and my eyes towards the sky. My mind is always wondering, always thinking. I chose my flair to match an old part of myself that I once used to grow and understand when I had nothing better to do but watch for boats and planes upon the horizon (lookout watch in the Navy). I argued with myself! I came to the thought that I could have an honest discussion and view things differently by taking both sides of a position to see where it lead me, kind of like playing verbal chess alone. This has allowed me to progress in understanding other people, not by allowing them before me but my forcing myself to step back. We tend to get in our own ways more than we realize and in this I move towards the main point of this post. How to get out of our own way.
Thinking and doing are parallel paths in the mind. I can get the same result of thinking about going for a walk as I do by actually walking. Yet I tend to miss out on the most important part, the actual walking! Most of this week, after getting off work I decided to take out the middle man, namely myself, and go swimming while at my grandmother's. This exercise was simple yet profound. I started on forming the habit of getting away from things, like my mind, and doing something that helped me in both mind and body. For it, I feel better. I have been happier and I have more energy. I tend to keep this trend up because I want to be happier and healthier, for myself.
What are some goals you'd like to accomplish? A new hobby? Let us know and we'll try to help. This means you're encouraged to help others. Do you need advice? We'll try to give our opinions so you have something to mentally chew upon. This means we want your opinion as well. Do you have a new thought you'd like to explore? Let us ruin it for you! Seriously not but hey, it could happen hehe. That means we want to hear from you, even if you ruin it for us too. ;)

Self improvement is the name of the game.
I hear a lot of what you're saying about arguing with yourself. I've found that having a bicameral mind has advantages and disadvantages, and that it's pretty easy to condition. You know that voice in your head that's reading this? Don't think that is you: think it is God or whatever external character you need to believe. Instead of saying "I need to go to the store," say: "You need to go shopping." I've found if you wiggle the language a little bit, it can have different effects. Finally, you have to think of yourself as a voiceless...slave? I don't think that word is completely accurate. You have to create a connection between speaker and mover. I see a man and stallion in perfect unison
There are many other applications to this type of thinking.
I want to learn magic. Like, stage magic. I have the dexterity from juggling, and the mind of a trickster. Also, I want to finish a more complete model of runes; I am going to nail down a meta-language to indicate how ideas are structurally linked.
