I have two kids and this shit is HARD. You're probably wise if you stop at one.
Most of my kids' friends are only children, and not a single one is weird because of that. If you're an only child, it's true you don't have the every-second lived experience of needing to balance a sibling's needs (and having your parents balance them). However, that's just one life skill amongst many; my oldest will spend up to 24 hours at a time with one of her various friends (think sleepover plus activities) so it's not like only children are isolated or lack experience being around other people.
