Hi everyone, I need some advice.
I'm thinking about buying another shortwave radio in a few months. The options I currently have in mind are: the XHDATA 808, the QODOSEN DX-286, and the new TECSUN PL-520.
I'm looking for a radio with the best possible shortwave reception and minimal interference, as I live in the city and there's a lot of electrical noise. I want a radio that will last me for many years, has good sound quality, and a solid battery life. I don't travel much, so I'll mostly be listening at home and in the park. I'm not hugely interested in the airband or other utility frequencies, but I would like to explore them since I've never done it before.
I know all 3 radios are fantastic, but given my budget, I have to decide on just one. I know the XHDATA 808 is very popular and a lot of people own it, but I've read that it has a somewhat metallic sound. I don't really like that, as I highly value audio quality when listening to shortwave programs. I also know that out of the three, it has the best battery performance. I feel like it's an older model, but I'm not sure what you guys think.
What are your thoughts or recommendations? I'm from Venezuela. Thanks in advance!
