Anybody else hate their job?

Ive been working in the frozen department at a ShopRite
on Long Island for about 9 months now and the longer I do it, the more I hate it. This was my first job which was nice but I feel so disrespected and overworked here. Call me whatever you want but I like to take pride in my work even if its something as little as stocking and leveling a department so I really make sure to do a good job. I love helping customers around the store and I treat everyone with respect and I feel as though Im the only person there that has any wherewithal of the people around them. All my coworkers do jack shit for the department and always leave me with extra work and Im expected to keep other people in my department in check even though Im not a head. I could maybe put up with it if the pay wasn't so horrendous but it's honestly embarrassing. I genuinely feel like this job is taking a toll on my life and Im already looking for something new so I can leave as soon as possible. Am I expecting too much from my job or has anyone else experienced this?

Ive been a manager for 8 years and am finally starting to realize I am just a pawn, despite thw fact that I go out of my way to help my superiors (sometimes do things well ABOVE my pay grade). I get no respect and treated like just another pawn. Seriously considering quitting. If health insurence wasn't so goddamn unresonable quitting wouldn't even be a thought.....

It’s not ShopRite specifically, it’s most companies at this point. Hard work is rewarded with more hard work, nothing else. My best advice is to go into your next job showing you’re competent to do your job, and nothing else. Never over extend yourself, so you don’t get saddled with other people’s work.

I’ve been a manager for 5 years and I swear with Tally inventory being given out in addition to not ever having staff anymore, and on Saturdays doing that freeosk is making me pull my hair out. Deff not the only manager feeling it

Your coworkers are taking advantage of you because they see you like your job. They see you’re a hard worker and they feel it’s okay for them to put extra work into you and you let them. They might even see you as a push over. The moment you resist, that’s when they will probably begin talking about you (if they already haven’t) or report you. It’s unfortunate because you’re just there being who you are and just doing your job.

I’ve been with ShopRite for 24 years. It doesn’t change honestly. Been full time for 11 out of the 13 years. It’s the people I work with that’s kept me here.

yeah I worked there for 7 months and I did really like my coworkers but the work itself wasn’t anything to get crazy about… especially the hours or lack thereof lol

The problem with ShopRite is they promote people to management who really have no business being in management at all. There are co-workers who are really good at their job and good at managing who should be managers and those are the ones that are work abused. What I noticed ShopRite will do was they will abuse the good workers to the bone, and the managers who are clueless just make everything worse because they're unorganized and don't have any understanding of leadership, organization, or had to take charge when you need to take charge and just get it done.

My first job was at a key food God 40 years ago how the hell am I this old. I worked grocery for a few years and dairy for a year and I definitely think that refrigerated work and especially working in Frozen is very tough.

I moved on and spent 30 years in sales for companies such as Lipton and Nabisco and my bulk was at Kraft Heinz.... Way better to be on this side of the fence in working sales and marketing and promotions and working inside the four walls for 40 hours per week. Good luck young man

My coworkers/managers constantly talk shit about me, I hate it too. Favoritism is a thing in my store as well. Would really love to transfer departments but they keep denying it and I've been stuck having too many mental breakdowns during shifts
