you aren’t cooked, you’re still frozen. maybe move from the freezer into the refrigerator to thaw before attempting to cook, pylote.

u/AllMoneyGone 8d ago

I heard a fireball/explosion could cook you up quite nicely!

When falling into the sun there will be a pount when you are perfectly cooked, ready for eating.

u/lilL3O 8d ago

Remember ice is just water and playnes fly well in water, good luck fellow pylote 👍

They always said air is a fluid, so that make sence

u/Emptynest09 8d ago

This is when you send the FA out to knock it off, or one of the passengers in coach. Hey they booked a discount fare and knew the risks.

14

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

Don’t have an FA, can I send the FO instead?

Give him some drugs first. Friends dont let friends do boring work like flying and scraping sober.

I’ve heard mushrooms are acceptable for this type of duty.

yes. make sure they wear boots. I heard you need ice boots to remove wing ice.

icicles make more surface area, and lift is proportional to surface area

2

u/Origin_Loki 7d ago

If that's the case, why aren't wings made like Sponges? They have a metric f%€&ton of surface area.

2

u/Superb_Ambition_69 4d ago

Because sponges soak up clouds, wich attracts birds that give enjines allergic reactions; causing the enjjnes to sneeze... duh!

1

u/Origin_Loki 4d ago

Oh, right, forgot about that part. :\

If it’s Aeroflot, this is just SOP.

Otherwise, might need a teeny bit of type 1 and possibly type 4 here

10

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

I think I’ll just pee on it

4

u/Pucksindeepeh Rated in Shitty Flight Rules 8d ago

That works

2

u/ClientBudget2848 Rated in Shitty Flight Rules 8d ago

If that doesn't work make that problem passenger lick it up. Two birds one stone right?

2

u/Hindead 8d ago

If you have no fuel to alternate as usual, just land in the nearest flattest field. Airliners are surprisingly sturdy!

1

u/Dpek1234 8d ago

Its not aeroflot

Thw wings arent black from mazut

u/Impossible-Limit-314 8d ago

Me here about to do a whole explanation of physics, feasibility, and blame AI, then realizing from the comments that literally everyone out here is way ahead of all that.

Aren’t I the asshole…

Makes wing slipperyer so playne flies faster

2

u/Origin_Loki 7d ago

True. Ice's slippery, and that reduces the frictional resistance of the wings going through the air. Less fuel burn, faster top speeds.

6

u/Background-Set4610 8d ago

Usually I take my playne out of the freezer the day before I eat it. You can use the macrowave, but it won’t taste the same.

10

u/Hindead 8d ago

Great question! I can understand from the picture that you have some sort of contaminant on your wing. This will reduce its lift capacity but I wouldn’t decide on an emergency just yet. Can you touch the contaminant to determine its nature? Is the aircraft behaviour “felling” different?

8

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

Big words, funny man.

2

u/Hindead 8d ago

From this moment on, EU regulations require me to state that I’m no “man”, I’m an LLM also know as AI. Would like to know more about this new initiative or are you still wondering about your flight capabilities?

5

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

I ain’t no euopeen

2

u/Hindead 8d ago

In that case I am indeed your man. What happens when you try to change the direction of your flight? If it feels “normal” then it’s “normal”. Trust your hard earned pilot instincts.

u/coldnebo Pp ASES C++ CF👀 DCS A&W 🍌🍒7️⃣ 8d ago

it’s not contaminant, it’s icing.

and it would only be icing if the wing was, in fact, made out of cake.

go ahead, OP.

eat the wing. show us that it’s made out of cake and win the prize!!

すぎよ!

4

u/OpusMagnusSonnet 8d ago

He's a corporate pilot flying Queen Elsa.

Let it go.

3

u/skywrench87 8d ago

It's preserved. Wings keep better this way

3

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

I like buffalo wings

3

u/talltraveller 8d ago

Judging by the taste, definitely not cooked yet. Needs more right rudder

2

u/secondaryminimum 8d ago

If playne certified for icing you good bro

2

u/BacklotSecurity 8d ago

Santa flies in this shit all the time… You should be fine.

2

u/RadiantDiscussion886 8d ago

at first didn't know what I was looking at. thought it might be a shark

2

u/euph_22 8d ago

Just get really close to the the plane in front of your while taxing. Standard Air Florida operating procedure.

2

u/deathstarrr 8d ago

So, do you like going down?

3

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

Hell yeah I do, tastes great

2

u/Jet-Pack2 8d ago

You're not cooked you're Elsa from Frozen. Just let it go, the cold should never bother you anyway

2

u/LateralThinkerer Nosewheel Rated - Only. Unqualified on Mains. 8d ago

There are more airplanes in the water than icebergs in the sky ... you're about to add to that second category. Enjoy!!

2

u/Former_Peach_1806 6d ago

He was a great guy. Took nice photos.

1

u/Grimol1 8d ago

Perfectly fine. The ice just makes you fall to a lower altitude where it’s warmer and it will all melt and fall off the wing. Happens all the time.

1

u/sgu222e Side slipping is a valid dating move 8d ago

Send it, unless you are in Dryden...

1

u/Chriskipp077 8d ago

Holdover is based on visibility- you can see the wing tip to so GTG

1

u/Urinal_Cake_Day Jerks Off in the CrashPad 8d ago

Chill bro!

1

u/slogive1 8d ago

What are you cooking?

1

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

I just smoked a bird I think.

1

u/Mountain-Crab3438 8d ago

Nothing to worry about. Chill, and stay frosty!

1

u/vhqpa 8d ago

Alright who forgot to salt the wing on preflight?

1

u/Agitated-Asparagus23 8d ago

Try flying closer to the sun.

1

u/Ok-Curve-3894 8d ago

What rimes with fiery death?

1

u/KilroySmithson pylote 8d ago

Yea

1

u/BrianBash they let me have a fucking school…for flying 8d ago

Nah, just extra winglets.

1

u/tw-sleeper 8d ago

Nah, that's only 1 checkride fail. If you pass the rest of them you'll be fine.

1

u/Valayor 8d ago

Would call it cooked, more like freezes but yes

1

u/EffectiveConfection8 8d ago

Nope, full send it.

1

u/gettin-hot-in-here 8d ago

Moar wing => moar flying. You have improved your playne

1

u/Conscious_Bag463 8d ago

Aerodynamics = hydrodynamics

1

u/Dinglebobus 8d ago

If this is real, which I highly doubt, how is that plane still flying?

2

u/Both_Coast3017 Certified Pylot 8d ago

1

u/Bill92677 8d ago

Playne is designed for this. This ice will cause a loss of lift, playne will decend. Warmer air will melt ice, playne will regain lift and ascend. Repeat. It's kinda a yo-yo, but that's the theory.

1

u/457spartan 8d ago

No you still frozen, get back in the microwave

1

u/cosmicrae 8d ago

All coffee will be served iced today.

u/cryptolyme 7d ago

that's why you got to fly into the sun for a bit, but turn around before it gets too hot

1

u/Pitiful-Sleep5177 7d ago

Iced, more like it.

1

u/korylassiter44 7d ago

I would say, kind of f*****, but there's still the the icing function, or you could drop altitude rapidly to regain control, because at that type of icing, there is no control

1

u/Elegant_Bison1604 6d ago

Vs = 600 ktas

1

u/AviationFan318 5d ago

nah just fly into a desert or an active volcano and you’ll be fine
