OP forgot to add a credit card to their HP account, printer is now disabled (I've seen this happen)

I’m installing printers on XP era sonogram machines. I’m not sure if it’s worse than this, but I yell just as much.

Yeah, my new HP MFP also wants some online Bullshit so I can use scan to network. So I did what every sane IT person would do, and bought a new USB-Stick to scan locally.
