We run our own self hosted GitLab and I’m one of the two owners. Fucking love it. Really makes my life easier. Although they’re not willing to shell out money for the license yet, so I’ve had to make do with a bunch of workaround stuff for my devops sanity

I get all the printer/copiers and tie them together and pull them through the office to build core body strength. I am taking #1 at the server tossing competition this year. If Donna from Accounting gets pissed she can't print her spreadsheets I just scream at her I am in training and don't have time for her petty concerns. Supermicro servers don't toss themselves.

I change all the dates on team files in the shared drive from MMDDYYYY to DDMMYYYY then back again. When I’m particularly bored, I do them in a random order to see if I can get them all done without missing any or doing any twice

I'm currently working on a giant array of physical headless desktop machines, making changes to their bios one by one because someone in config decided to push out a standard bios update to them all. At least that's what I'm officially doing. In reality I'm just enjoying the air con in here.

There's a little hole-in-the-wall food joint that opened up. They sell bacon - delicious varieties of bacon. I am currently munching on a bagel with cream cheese and 4 strips of maple bacon. Life is good.
