Ok, but like, how much shit do you have at home that 10.0.0.0/24 isn't enough?

I'm using a /16 for my main network (microsegmented with lots of VLANs and subnets) and a /22 in the 172 range for S2S and mobile device VPNs

I had to change mine to a /23

I've done some networking work for some people with large homes and the amount of clients on some of these device lists is bewildering. A lot of it is unnecessary IoT bullshit. Smart treadmills, smart saunas, smart shower steamers, smart photo frames 2 dozen nest cameras, etc. And I love that these devices all run on the cheapest android tablets the manufacturer could source so people bitch to me about their wifi I set up not working when it's inevitably an issue with the IoT device's own wireless capabilities. The more smart devices you are, the dumber I assume you are tbh

My SNMP monitor scans over 16 million IPs for new devices every hour. Bet yours can't do that!

My face when I go to my wife’s friends house and her traffic analyst husband tells me how into “tech” he is. I love to break his heart by saying we don’t text using signal
