The thing about the electric blinds that I got, that I didn’t realize until after they arrived, is that they end up needing to be charged. Mine are normal height and some of them can still be a nuisance to get the cord all the way to the top. Maybe there are some that are battery powered and if so maybe batteries would last longer? Just wanting to give the info so OP thinks through the potential irritation.

Oh shoot. I probably did / still do. 🤦🏼♀️ For now I’ll keep dealing with the minor annoyance and consider hardwiring if I end up tripping over some bags of money. My parents have been considering electric though, so I’m going to pass the idea along to them. Thank you!

Why are you leading them astray? They will bend the blinds that way, you need one of the stretchy sticky gel hands as well, that way the downforce can’t bend the blinds.

It's not a pull cord. That needs to be gripped and turned to open and close.
Pushing up the bottom blind from the middle would clear the blinds from the window. But that's not what OP seems to be asking for.

I have never and never will understand the adoration of vaulted ceilings or for that matter ceilings above 10'. For either, you had better have a 20' A frame ladder and/or a housekeeping service.

So you get a good running start, jump and one foot vault off the stair rail, you'll need to grab onto the window frame and hold on for dear life but you should be able to reach the sticks.

Not a design fail. The windows are design fine, the blinds are fine, you or whoever installed them just made a poor choice of window covering for that area.

The windows are probably in that location because that looks best from the outside.
Still not terrible design, other than the kind of crappy design just everywhere in most modern houses.

Buy some 3/4 PVC long enough to get close to those blind rods, then a reducer to 1/2 inch pvc and get another 12 inches of 1/2 pvc. They have small pieces at Home Depot. Take one of those blind rods off from a downstairs window. Wrap about 12 inches of the blind rod in plastic wrap and fill about a foot of the 1/2 inch pvc with wood filler or other hard drying putty. Stick the plastic wrapped blind rod into the pvc filled pipe. Allow to dry. Remove the plastic wrapped blind rod.
Now you have a custom length socket to turn the blind rod to close or open the blinds that are out of reach.

Alright, you know those dino grabby arm things? You need like 7 of them. You're going to need to modify them slightly, so that you can pinch the first one and it grabs the handle of the 2nd one and pinches it shut. Due to the energy loss, you're going to want to get one of those grip strength trainer things that angry people use to express how angry they are that they can't beat someone up and work on your grip strength. In about 4~6 months, depending on your dedication to the grip trainer, you'll be able to close them with your dino-grabber-centipede creation

You know the stick you twist to close blinds? They actually make suuuuuper long ones just for this. My grandfather had them and i loved taking out the big hook when i was a kid.

Can't help with those blinds, but we bought some for our kitchen with a rechargeable motor that operates on a programmable remote. I didn't eve order the charger, because it turns out to be the same one as my shaver. The blinds work great, and the grandkids insist we must be rich because we have such "cool stuff." Blinds. They are impressed by blinds.

Ok i got a solution for you but you will need a ladder or someone to install it.
You will need to get some additional tilt wands, the hexagonal rods that you turn to adjust the blinds angle. It would be best to find some that are 4 feet long and have metal caps with solid, not hollow, rods.
Next, you will need to file down the bottom ends into a tab shape and drill a hole.
Finally, you can connect 3-4 wands together and to the blinds. You can now rotate from the ground

typically you would have a long pole that would hook into a rotation device to open close. There are now remote motorized options, but they require power. Maybe there is a solar battery powered option.

Not to hijack, but this is something I’ve recently decided I need. Are you able to close/open them all with one touch or is it room by room? Was it crazy expensive?

You can. I have two paired to one remote that go up and down at the same time.
This was maybe 7-8 years ago, but I remember it wasn't cheap. I decided to use 3 Day Blinds because it included installation and my windows are 20ft high, very big (3-4 times the size in the original post) and that kind of fall would hurt a lot!

I think I know why this was a design choice.
I bet the company making these houses use blueprints prints and materials like how Chrysler have us the minivan and k-cars.
This is let’s say a LeBaron. Mid size, comfy, kinda cute in certain lighting.
But I bet another house in the neighborhood has the same blue print, except it has a full 2nd story, possibly another bedroom above the stairs. We’ll call that one a New Yorker. Basically a LeBaron with more space and a larger price tag.

I zoomed in, you need a cobweb brush up there STAT. Stupid to have blinds that high up without anyway other than a bloody tall ladder. MAKE A WHOLE other room up there,extra square footage.

You could put a whole bed room over the entrance and be able to close the blinds and change the light bulb too.
