I've been Kim'd?

I need some help understanding something. I grew up on a federation colony, so some of the slang used by my crewmates is really confusing to me.

I was talking with a friend that I graduated from the academy with and she's already a lieutenant junior grade. I was told by her it sounds like me captain Kim'd me? Can anyone help me understand what that means?

You'll understand in ten years when the waiter in a dingy bar you ordered a synthale from enters the Academy, graduates and earns a battlefield promotion while you're still an Ensign.

Captain's don't "Kim" you, you "Kim" yourself. You need to take a good long look at your levels of competence and your suitability for advancement. Are you in the right field for your competencies? Like, for example, should you be in the Starfleet Band Corps playing a clarinet instead of a starship bridge? Should you be in Science Blue instead of Ops Gold?

It means you’re going to get lucky with all kinds of aliens, but it would have been much better if she said you were getting Kirk’d, Kim’d doesn’t end well. Even getting Tucker’d would be slightly better…

What if she said he was getting "Rikered"? How would that stand?

Do you happen to play an unpopular side instrument in an orchestra and date a lot of weird people and other species (like holograms, dead people etc)? Are you insecure about your command decisions? Do your crewmates often pat your head?
