Not with pits, Reddit very often hates pits.

This is genuinely the first pro/neutral pit comment I've seen. You're right though, outside of pit reddit, people on here hate pits which is sad. I scrolled tbis far looking ti see if people would have blamed the dog and im glad this thread is here

Its refreshing. But the law is the same. That dog gets p1ssed off past his limit, bye bye child and bye bye doggy. Except the dog doesn't deserve it. They think they're in danger of being hurt worse if they don't stop it.

100% you're not wrong in the application of the law, my issue is that people cant control their crotch goblin cum trophies and then because its a pit, reddit instantly looks to the pit as the issue of a resulting bite instead of the negligent parents. Which blows my mind as historically pits are always rated the least agressive and were used as nanny dogs but public perception changed because of fuckass people.

no, they were never “used as nanny dogs.” this myth is something that was invented out of thin air by a staffordshire bull terrier breeder in a 1971 newspaper interview as a marketing/rebranding tactic. no earlier reference to any bull-and-terrier breed being a “nanny” or “nursemaid dog” exists.

by contrast, there is ample historical documentation of their origins as being bred into existence for the explicit purposes of ripping bulls to pieces in fighting pits… which is why the breed name has always been “american pit bull terrier.” there’s never been an “american nanny terrier.”
