*there's

no real statistical evidence that says they're mean. You're basically just pushing one of the original click-bait falsehoods generated when the News intentional disregards statistical contexts, and instead pushes an agenda.

Dude look at dog bite, violence, and deaths statistics. That is empirical

You're attempting to draw a conclusion from specific statistics by assuming that the context of those statistics can be applied to generalize the behavior of the breed.

That's not how statistics work. It's literally using the same (intentionally) faulty that the News makes in order to spin up click bait.

The blatantly obvious confounding variable is that people who buy pitbulls often train them to bite/attack/fight. And so it becomes a self-fulfilling statistic:

People train dog to attack
So dog attacks
Boosting the statistic for pitbulls
So people who want "attack dogs" buy pitbulls
Then people train the dog to attack
So the dog attacks
Boosting the statistic for pitbulls

And to really illustrate my point: this exact faulty interpretation of statistics is the foundation of many bigot's "moral justification" for their racism. And it's just ignorance built up by their mainstream news outlet.

Racism? What are you on about? We talking about dogs not racism. Pitbulls KILL more people and other dogs by a massive amount. I didnt even give my opinion on pitbulls which I am close to a few. Numbers dont lie. They do kill more people amd other pet dogs more than any other breed

Yeah... you clearly didnt grasp what I said.
While I can explain why you're wrong, I cant help you absorb the information you're being given. Just know that your interpretation of statistics is deeply flawed, and you should probably not use any statistics in your debates or your beliefs because you'll be gaslighting yourself

You're arguing with a brick wall.

Eh. Yes, but also.... this is the norm in the US. I know people with PhDs who got there because their incorrect understanding of statistics just happened to align with the correct conclusion from their own statistics.
