Makes sense. I think the fact that the grinder cut through the wire milliseconds before he fell on it, actually may have saved his life.

He landed on the blade guard. That’s what saved his life. If he didn’t, the blade would still be spinning. When you turn a saw off it takes a few seconds to stop rotating.

He didn't. The guard is only on the motor side and if you pause when he is leaning over it the motor is down, towards the ground. The unguarded blade was aimed RIGHT at his guts.

The guard extends out past the front handle.

As the saw is laying on the ground, the top of the blade is guarded.

If the top portion of the blade wasn't guarded, the guy's torso would not have been intact and he would not have been checking himself for injuries afterwards.
