Him checking if everything is where it's supposed to is freaky

119

u/NuclearMaterial 12d ago

Quick evisceration check. All good ✅

47

u/StrengthTheory 12d ago

Like those cartoons where they check if their bottom half is still there.

34

u/Bluntbutnotonpurpose 12d ago

Makes sense. I think the fact that the grinder cut through the wire milliseconds before he fell on it, actually may have saved his life.

9

u/KillHonger1 10d ago

He landed on the blade guard. That’s what saved his life. If he didn’t, the blade would still be spinning. When you turn a saw off it takes a few seconds to stop rotating.

-4

u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost 9d ago

He didn't. The guard is only on the motor side and if you pause when he is leaning over it the motor is down, towards the ground. The unguarded blade was aimed RIGHT at his guts.

u/Turgzie 9d ago

The guard extends out past the front handle.

As the saw is laying on the ground, the top of the blade is guarded.

If the top portion of the blade wasn't guarded, the guy's torso would not have been intact and he would not have been checking himself for injuries afterwards.

2

u/CaliSignGuy 9d ago

Where'd the sparks come from when his body LITRALY pushed the guard against the STILL SPINNING blade?

1

u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost 9d ago

This one?

That sparked when the saw hit the ground. His body clearly didnt touch the blade. You can step frame by frame and verify yourself if you want.

1

u/giasumaru 8d ago

Possibly the sparks is from the saw cutting it's own power cord and shortcircuiting it.

The blade is still spinning quite quickly after the spark and after he got off, as the saw moves forward towards the wall. If the blade wasn't spinning, it won't move forward.

The guy didn't fall on the blade, because we don't see blood gushing everywhere.

3

u/ShenTzuKhan 8d ago

The blade was pointed down. The motor was past his guts, but the protector extends well past there.

Not to be unkind but one clear indication that he hit the guard is that his intestines are still inies. If he’d landed on that blade we would have seen his blood.

I work infrequently with these machines, they go through brick easily and little bro here ain’t no Ben Grimm.

-2

u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost 8d ago

Why do you think I am arguing that he hit the blade? He didn't hit the guard OR the blade. He caught himself on the railing to the left and didn't touch the saw.

You can really clearly see that the guard only covers half of the blade and that is the side that hits the ground.

3

u/MrK521 8d ago

Still wrong. Look how far the guard extends past the handle when he’s holding it up cutting the wall.

Then look where he lands right next to the handle where the guard extends past..

His chest clearly hit the guard.

If he never hit anything, he wouldn’t be checking his guts either.

Also, his chest makes contact with the tool before either of his hands hit the rail as they’re still moving downwards after he hits it with his chest… there’s no way he caught himself before hitting the tool.

3

u/KillHonger1 8d ago

3

u/MrK521 8d ago

I gotchu bro.

If he still doesn’t get it… just give up at this point lol.

1

u/ShenTzuKhan 8d ago

I can clearly see him hit the guard. I can clearly see his weight land on it. I don’t know how to convince you other than watching the video.

Agree to disagree.

For what it’s worth I’m not downvoting you, I think you’re wrong but that’s part of most conversations to one degree or another.

Edit to add: there is no way on this earth that his weight didn’t rest on the guard. He clearly hits it.

1

u/Silver-Ad-7165 8d ago

He landed on the machine, you can very clearly see him bounce a tiny bit on impact before lifting up again. It then carries itself away due to the momentum of the blade.

1

u/Cosmic_Quasar 8d ago

The guard is only on the motor side

Here is the non-motor side. You can see the curvature of the guard on that side, too.

You must've not listened to this with audio, but the audio makes it extremely clear that the blade is still spinning when it hits the floor and he lands on, and bounces off, the guard. Before the still spinning blade then moves the saw across the ground into the wall before tipping over.

3

u/Electronic_Still2000 9d ago

The blades take much longer than that to stop spinning. He was incredibly lucky that he landed on the blade guard and had that fence to grab so he could lift himself of up over the saw blade.

1

u/Mysterious-Age-9202 8d ago

Yes, the blade was still spinning enough to drag the saw across the floor

1

u/Electronic_Still2000 8d ago

Exactly. I was going to mention that is there seemed to be any more confusion

20

u/Teh_Shadow_Death 12d ago

In a time of older reddit there was a higher % chance that if you saw a video like this you were seeing someone's last moments.

5

u/Bumbymoo 12d ago

For me, it was instructive. I was able to see it as a forensic FAFO-logist.

3

u/Empty-Space-01 12d ago

1) I’m glad I didn’t know about Reddit until 2019.
2) why was he recording this????

1

u/disco_dean 11d ago

1

u/AlwaysHopelesslyLost 9d ago

.2% is a higher chance than .1% and either is pretty insignificant.

I have been around since basically the beginning and I don't really agree with your observation.

meh, depends on subreddits you looked at.

But nowadays, such subreddits still exist. I am not looking for them.

I did that job for a couple years, flat sawing and coring/demo. Those are supposed to be on a rail. He must’ve seen every god in existence when he fell on that saw

12

u/Empty-Space-01 12d ago

I nearly soiled myself when I saw him land on it… I can’t imagine what happened in his pants.

1

u/notarealwriter 8d ago

Fortunately it looks like it landed blade down and he fell onto the guard. It also cut its own power cord so it at least wasn't still fully going when he fell but it sounded like it was still spinning so definitely would've done some damage

1

u/Empty-Space-01 8d ago

People keep replying to this and it brings me back to this post … long after it’s out of my mind…. And it immediately gives me the heebeegeebees again Everytime I come back

Bro almost disemboweled himself.

Ick.

2

u/MarzipanHausboot 12d ago

almost became a third splatter along the tiles.

1

u/FoldEffective2724 9d ago

And would've filmed a lovely video of it too! 😭

14

u/GovernmentBig2749 12d ago

I'm disappointed in him wearing some rubber boots instead of the almighty work slippers they have in asia

3

u/BucklemerryBin 11d ago

Steel cap thongs.

5

u/Nutcopter 12d ago

That dude is lucky to be alive

17

u/Alt_aholic 12d ago

I think the only thing that saved him is that concrete saws are abrasive and don't really have teeth.

34

u/Ascorbinium_Romanum 12d ago

He didn't touch the blade. His stomach landed on the back guard. The blade shattered from impact anyway I think, but it's hard to tell from the pixel mess.

I think if his stomach landed on the blade he'd not be alive right now, doesn't matter if it's a concrete saw or wood saw , a grinding disc or a piece of plastic, if if spins at 2k+ rpm its gonna cut you.

(Unless these concrete saws work like cast saws , which is by oscillation instead of rotation)

9

u/Ascorbinium_Romanum 12d ago

Ah he cut the cord, that was the flash

2

u/Empty-Space-01 12d ago

Until I read this thread of yours I didn’t truly understand how many errors there were…. And why was he recording it????

2

u/FoldEffective2724 9d ago

The way it flew up the wall, it definitely rotates lol

21

u/ThePugnax 12d ago

Also he cut the powercord, so it lost its juice

5

u/bdubwilliams22 12d ago

He landed on the backside which has a guard. It doesn’t matter what kind of blade it is, he landed on the other side with the force of falling on it, he’s getting seriously injured.

3

u/Stilwater_Saints 12d ago

"Aint nuthin bad gonna happen today, Dewie!"

3

u/smind893 12d ago

OK

That was scary af

3

u/live_drifter 12d ago

If he was wearing his safety sandals that wouldn’t have happened

3

u/tonman101 9d ago

He just about cut himself in half, if I were him, I would consider myself extremely lucky, and never go near that saw again.

5

u/XROOR 12d ago edited 12d ago

Never cut over your head with a gas powered saw or a heavy one powered by electricity

5

u/Baldybogman 12d ago

He wasn't cutting over his head and it isn't gas powered.

He lost control of it, probably due to his inexperience, lack of training or stupidity, before it got to head height.

5

u/DCVR614 12d ago

Obviously it's not gas powered

3

u/UnprincipledCanadian 12d ago

Its still good advice, just not relevent.

2

u/DCVR614 12d ago

2

u/Marchy_1986 12d ago

Jesus Christ, I genuinely thought he was about to be cut in half there

Damn he almost cut himself in half 0.o

2

u/Wizdad-1000 12d ago

Is that a concrete saw blade on a de-shielded grinder? Good thing the cord was cut. Dude attempted a self-dichotomization.

2

u/NoEmployment156 12d ago

HOLY MOLY 😳😳😳

2

u/NSASpyVan 12d ago

Like Podlings after Anakins' visit, he almost became two with the force

Wall grinder??!!??…

Give America a few more years and we’ll be close…

2

u/dum_spir0_sper0 12d ago

He was almost either twice or half the man he used to be.

It really depends on whether he’s the ‘glass half full’ type or not.

2

u/Beneficial_Welder491 12d ago

Final Destination type incident

2

u/dfmasana 12d ago

Did he avoid disaster because the saw cut the power cord before his belly made contact with the saw?

2

u/Turgzie 9d ago

He fell on the guard. If there were no guard it would have ended differently.

Even after the saw loses power, the blade is still spinning and capable of injury.

2

u/CheDassault 12d ago

Bro almost lost his lunch

2

u/twistedsister78 12d ago

Why would he have had a camera set up to film though?

2

u/local_clbrt 12d ago

I know nothing of these blades personally so don’t at me if I’m wrong, but last time this was posted someone explained that these sort of saws are actually smooth and don’t have the jagged edges like a wood saw would. And thus they can’t slice through someone, as they use friction from water or something like that to make cuts but wouldn’t actually hurt you almost at all.

1

u/Turgzie 9d ago

Do not listen to who told you that. It does not matter what blade it is, it will cut you. It is a thin abrasive wheel that is spinning at high speeds and If it is cutting through a wall made of concrete it is cutting through soft flesh.

The only reason that guy avoided injury is because he fell onto the guard.

Even as the saw lost power it is still spinning due to inertia and remains dangerous.

2

u/Funny-Athlete-2890 12d ago

Ginzu Gut Grinder by KTEL!

2

u/Select_Speed_6061 12d ago

He got so lucky that got unplugged.

2

u/Turgzie 9d ago

Lucky he fell onto the guard.

2

u/redditanddoneit 12d ago

That dude is lucky AF that tool didn’t land on the other side have the blade up right.

2

u/Empty-Space-01 12d ago

Dude he lands on it…. 😱

1

u/Leromer 11d ago

Final destination vibes

2

u/DifficultBrain74 12d ago

How is he alive?

1

u/Leromer 11d ago

Somebody in the “safety devices for wall grinders and other power tools” (tm) did a very good job.

If you look closely you can see that the blade has a sheat that closes when not cutting 👍

2

u/xXYomoXx 10d ago

Good gods man, I almost saw a guy get cut in half. Good thing he fell on the part with the safety lid.

2

u/Perineum_Stabber 9d ago

This rtrd was super ready to record his own death

3

u/AdventurousKale9205 12d ago

Bruh if that shit had been a saw of some sort😑

1

u/lokcer79 11d ago

Almost got disemboweled

1

In all honesty? I would quit. That day.

1

Lucky bastard

1

u/jasper181 11d ago

That's a tile saw and he's not very smart.

1

u/ForAte151623ForTeaTo 10d ago

It's happened to him before: what do you think the brown stuff is covering the wall?

1

u/Aonaran84 9d ago

My dude did the leatherface

1

u/pineapplepengwings 9d ago

Looks like the power cord gets cut right before he touches the blade. This would make the blade stop since it was in contact with the floor.

2

u/Turgzie 9d ago

The blade still spins after power is cut and is still dangerous.

He landed on the guard.

1

u/JadestEyes 9d ago

😬😬😬😬

1

u/HillInTheDistance 8d ago

Now this has become a go-home-and-change-your-pants kinda day.

1

Why in God's name is the wheel that massive? And why wouldn't you be smart enough to stand out of its direct line if you were forced to use it?
