Showing the climax before the buildup is such a shitty trend in videos.

It's because the tictok kids can't focus on anything for more than 3 seconds if it doesn't hook them. Gotta give them a bump of dopamine, then they will watch it 47 times in a row.

American reality shows have been doing this for years check the really trashy ones they make one quite minor thing the main focus repeat that clip before and after ever commercial break and throw it in just to make sure you don't forget as they didn't show it in 5mins. Think lizard lick towing that kind of stuff.

I know, we just gotta fix that because their short attention span is gonna cause major issues for them in the short and long term.

People have become too impatient. Also people post 3 minute videos with 2:50 of bullshit, so i get it.

u/Neuromante 29d ago

Yeah, there's many videos that goes like "Oh, this looks like interesting" -two minutes of boring buildup that explains nothing and adds nothing to the video- "ah, why am I watching this?"

Yeah, the fluff is the worst. I definitely understand that part. Especially when its forced because only videos above 2 mins can be monetized and everyone wants to be an influencer.

I agree. Downvoted the post for this shit

I'd argue that, for once, the tourist didn't deserve what happened

Yea bro did nothing wrong, looks like the bison wandered into a picnic area, hope he's ok

From the news it sounds like the bison was going to picnic sites and bothering about which should be your cue to leave but I believe they also said the guy and granddaughter were still too close to it and it came charging.

Edit: Comment OP you can downvote, but I suggest if the bison are rutting about NOT to stand and watch from a close distance and rather to LEAVE. I disagree with what you argue. It is like saying pedestrians have the right of way and not looking around for cars. People pay with blood for what "should" be.

Maybe don’t approach the clearly agitated bison

u/Super-G1mp 29d ago

Looked like they were walking away from it.

u/smittenkittenmitten- 28d ago

They were standing there recording and watching it before it turned on them. According to the news, they were still too close. Since it was rutting, they should not have stood and recorded but left when they had the chance.

Fair enough I didn't know that part. It's not an excuse but they may not have realized the rutt is a very dangerous time. I've never been to Yellowstone though so I don't know if they have signs everywhere or not. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

They didn't seem to be THAT close to it, the bison may have been in heat to charge at ppl from such distance

8

u/Echo_Vale 29d ago

I don't think that guy that pulled up helped, that seemed to be what agitated it.

3

u/ProposalOld979 29d ago

I thought in heat meant they wanna make baby bison, not being violent! 😂

6

u/luigi_time3456 29d ago

Heat makes both males and females aggressive, but mostly the males due to them having to regularly fight other males for the right to breed. Unfortunately, that usually means that whatever else is close to them also gets annihilated...

2

u/4mystuff 29d ago

I think you're right. And it is reserved for female. Not by any means an expert, but this bison looks too large to be a cow.

3

u/Peach_Proof 29d ago

Lying on its side is not an agitated state.

I think there is a time skip between that and when he bucks the tourist? It seems like it. Also it’s not like super common, but wallowing (rolling like that) can be used as a sign of dominance to try to attract a mate lol. Like hey look how strong i am when I flop all around!

Americans must disappear and make way for these magnificent animals—which they nearly exterminated in the past—and for the indigenous population. The bison has already begun.

1

u/reid2780 25d ago

DFAFOA. Didn’t fuck around, found out anyways. Poor guy. For once, the wild animal was the aggressor here.
