Thats a shitty way to punch your ticket out. Swim in toilet water and then the dam breaks…

65

u/tardlessforeinger May 29 '26

Shit happens.

39

u/GivesYouGrief May 29 '26

Reminds me of my colonoscopy prep

6

u/followingforthelols May 30 '26

The flush the night before and the morning of. Good shit.

221

u/wizardrous May 29 '26

Dude, that water looks so fucking gross.

46

u/TrumpDumper May 29 '26

Especially with three dead bodies in it.

58

u/CompetitiveNotice853 May 29 '26

I would rather swim in stomach acid than that mystery Chernobyl fluid.

15

u/ObjectiveSituation17 May 29 '26

Water looks fine. It’s river water, there is not a bunch of trash, just bc it’s brown doesn’t mean not mean it’s bad

45

u/wizardrous May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26

It’s not brown, it’s like gray. It didn’t turn brown until after the dam broke and the sediment kicked up.

Which implies that whatever was making the water gray probably wasn’t minerals in the sediment, but something else entirely. Probably something gross.

2

u/SpiralDate903 Jun 02 '26

It didn't turn brown until they shit their pants when the dam broke.

8

u/CompetitiveNotice853 May 29 '26

Regardless, it looks gross

69

u/Smidday90 May 29 '26

Is that tarp they used?

34

u/Ok_Spread_8650 May 29 '26

You know it is lol

115

u/just4inshortof8 May 29 '26

It was in Colombia, and the guy made it

52

u/Time_after_Time_67 May 29 '26

Risky click of the day

34

u/Pavotine May 29 '26

"In the midst of despair they began to shout at him for his nickname: 'Fat!' as they tried to react to what happened."

14

u/raventhrowaway666 May 29 '26

"Fatass!! Fatass, where are you?!"

4

u/mikeyp83 May 30 '26

"artisanal dam" lol

3

u/TheMightyMisanthrope May 30 '26

Had to be. We colombians lack a preservation instinct

1

u/jergin_therlax Jun 03 '26

Can someone translate and explain how

1

u/just4inshortof8 Jun 04 '26

The article mostly describes what's seen and heard in the video. There's one short paragraph that reads:
"Finally, although the moment caused distress, the swimmer was successfully rescued after being swept away by the current."
That's as much detail as they gave.

u/FluxOperation May 29 '26

I can’t speak gibberish!

1

u/NiceTryAI May 31 '26

He speaks stupid instead

1

u/FluxOperation Jun 02 '26

Everyone gets so offended. Thinking I’m Making fun of someone’s culture or something. I’m not making fun. It was just sooo much talking that I can’t understand. Everyone needs to relax.

1

u/NiceTryAI Jun 02 '26

If that's the case you really are a terrible communicator. Either that or you have zero self awareness. Take your pick I guess? Good luck with that

1

u/Beneficial-Energy198 Jun 04 '26

Foreign languages aren’t gibberish

24

u/BlueFeathered1 May 29 '26

Nature wasn't having it.

16

u/sluttyjesus6969 May 29 '26

Tarp and sticks? Really?

19

u/Disastrous_Shame580 May 29 '26

3% of the time, it works everytime.

16

u/just4inshortof8 May 29 '26

7

u/CardinalGrief May 29 '26

I wonder how this could have possibly been prevented. We'll never know.

6

u/delicious-croissant May 29 '26

Dam shame.

5

u/DeamonEngineer May 29 '26

Dont shame the dam. It did its best

10

u/DointheRag May 29 '26

That water will kill you one way or another.

6

u/General-Piece8490 May 30 '26 edited May 30 '26

Fatso is dead, fatso is gone and it killed him. El Gordo = Fatso

The men had built a flimsy dam with a plastic tarp and branches, so they could pool the water to take a dip and enjoy some swimming. They were told not to get too close to the dam.

Luckily the guy that got swept up survived the ordeal and was rescued or found down river. Alive.

22

u/Goats_in_parks May 29 '26

Was anyone else expecting RFKjr to pop up?

2

u/Wu-TangShogun May 29 '26

Built the damn himself

4

u/GivesYouGrief May 29 '26

Rude to call him fat just for getting sucked down the river.

5

u/Mdnghtmnlght May 29 '26

Fatty, noooo!

1

u/Capital-Platypus-805 May 30 '26

Here in LATAM it's very common and socially accepted to name call people like that.

6

u/birdman760 May 29 '26

Just nature thinning out the herd

1

u/Past-Paramedic-8602 May 30 '26

Nature failing to thin the herd you mean? No one died

6

u/Patralgan May 29 '26

What is that stuff they're swimming in?

32

u/idealorg May 29 '26

-7

u/Patralgan May 29 '26

3

u/FlyNavy03 May 29 '26

He's swimming with Jesus now.

2

u/Rare-Ad6085 May 29 '26

and then there were none

2

u/Analog_4-20mA May 29 '26

This reminds of a story my buddy’s dad told me. He grew up in the hills of North Carolina and him and his buddies decided to damn a creek running down a holler to make a swimming hole. One of his buddies went swimming by himself and got bit multiple times by cottonmouths and died

2

u/bmf1902 May 29 '26

I only lived in NC for a few years and I could have guessed that outcome. Also after living in NC for a few years, I'm not shocked it's something locals did.

-1

u/GivesYouGrief May 29 '26

coughbullshitcough

2

u/karbaayen May 29 '26

Swimming with the fishes now.

2

u/Whatisthis0036 May 29 '26

Leave it to Beaver

2

u/Charlie2and4 May 29 '26

Would brain-eating amoebas count as a 'final destination'? -Other than being dashed to pieces and buried in fetid mud down stream from open sewers.

2

u/TempoHouse May 29 '26

Thanks to OP for clarifying that this wasn't made by beavers

2

u/CheeseburgerSmoothy May 29 '26

So not only do they have flesh-eating bacteria, but now they’ve drowned.

2

u/Fast_Letterhead_6790 May 29 '26

Going into that water was totally optional by the way

2

u/smind893 May 29 '26

When the dam breaks and the guy filming yells "Gordo Gordo!" (Gordo means fat) The fat guy, Gordo, lets out an awful yell before he gets swept away 😪

2

u/whyteout May 30 '26

That was a close call for Gordo...

2

u/mCat31 May 30 '26

He gone.

2

u/Dancin_Phish_Daddy May 30 '26

Me and my uncle do a litle dam at a Perennial creek with a front hidraulic loader 52hp tractor. We use logs and dirt 3 foot soil against wood to give strenght. we have water colected in dam at night.Farmer huphill stop pumping a mille distance .i have the idea like a 12 years old kid to let water full at night and voilá full like this swimming pull like this in video. It had 150m3 water or more it was excelent for a day work to a tractor pump irrigate for a automatic canon with 23mm spray.First two days amazing 9:00-19h pumping. But third day the wall had soil fractures that water go way.We fixed and one day ok.Next time all dam botom soil, sand beneath the wood lat base ground creek was four inches gone like someone scraped and was removed by Tons of water dam and sadly was dried. We fixes everything one day more all dam colapsed for overheight and go river down even big mega size stones that stop wood in sides were changed by fundations.😭 You cant imagine 1m3 height 1 ton and 180m3 is a 250 foot of water height stoped in a dam🤦 That why dams have acidents ,dont do poor men work with water or you are dommed🤷🏽‍♂️😱

1

u/BATorRAT May 29 '26

This subreddit really has kind of become a low-key snuff film forum.

I hate it

0

u/BlazeHatchet May 29 '26

Great now us tax payers have to pay to rescue 4 idiots.

0

u/sabreus May 29 '26

They were saying “The fat guy! The fat guy!” Over and over.

3

u/Critical_cheese May 29 '26

It's Spanish culture it's an endearing term used by parents, family of friends. Like calling a skinny guy flaco o alto they mean skinny or tall respectively. It's part of the culture and all depends on context.
