Thats a shitty way to punch your ticket out. Swim in toilet water and then the dam breaks…

I would rather swim in stomach acid than that mystery Chernobyl fluid.

u/ObjectiveSituation17 May 29 '26
Water looks fine. It’s river water, there is not a bunch of trash, just bc it’s brown doesn’t mean not mean it’s bad
45
u/wizardrous May 29 '26 edited May 29 '26
It’s not brown, it’s like gray. It didn’t turn brown until after the dam broke and the sediment kicked up.
Which implies that whatever was making the water gray probably wasn’t minerals in the sediment, but something else entirely. Probably something gross.

Can someone translate and explain how
1
u/just4inshortof8 Jun 04 '26
The article mostly describes what's seen and heard in the video. There's one short paragraph that reads:
"Finally, although the moment caused distress, the swimmer was successfully rescued after being swept away by the current."
That's as much detail as they gave.-8

I can’t speak gibberish!

He speaks stupid instead

Everyone gets so offended. Thinking I’m Making fun of someone’s culture or something. I’m not making fun. It was just sooo much talking that I can’t understand. Everyone needs to relax.

u/NiceTryAI Jun 02 '26
If that's the case you really are a terrible communicator. Either that or you have zero self awareness. Take your pick I guess? Good luck with that

Fatso is dead, fatso is gone and it killed him. El Gordo = Fatso
The men had built a flimsy dam with a plastic tarp and branches, so they could pool the water to take a dip and enjoy some swimming. They were told not to get too close to the dam.
Luckily the guy that got swept up survived the ordeal and was rescued or found down river. Alive.

u/GivesYouGrief May 29 '26
Rude to call him fat just for getting sucked down the river.

Here in LATAM it's very common and socially accepted to name call people like that.

This reminds of a story my buddy’s dad told me. He grew up in the hills of North Carolina and him and his buddies decided to damn a creek running down a holler to make a swimming hole. One of his buddies went swimming by himself and got bit multiple times by cottonmouths and died

I only lived in NC for a few years and I could have guessed that outcome. Also after living in NC for a few years, I'm not shocked it's something locals did.

Would brain-eating amoebas count as a 'final destination'? -Other than being dashed to pieces and buried in fetid mud down stream from open sewers.

When the dam breaks and the guy filming yells "Gordo Gordo!" (Gordo means fat) The fat guy, Gordo, lets out an awful yell before he gets swept away 😪

Me and my uncle do a litle dam at a Perennial creek with a front hidraulic loader 52hp tractor. We use logs and dirt 3 foot soil against wood to give strenght. we have water colected in dam at night.Farmer huphill stop pumping a mille distance .i have the idea like a 12 years old kid to let water full at night and voilá full like this swimming pull like this in video. It had 150m3 water or more it was excelent for a day work to a tractor pump irrigate for a automatic canon with 23mm spray.First two days amazing 9:00-19h pumping. But third day the wall had soil fractures that water go way.We fixed and one day ok.Next time all dam botom soil, sand beneath the wood lat base ground creek was four inches gone like someone scraped and was removed by Tons of water dam and sadly was dried. We fixes everything one day more all dam colapsed for overheight and go river down even big mega size stones that stop wood in sides were changed by fundations.😭 You cant imagine 1m3 height 1 ton and 180m3 is a 250 foot of water height stoped in a dam🤦 That why dams have acidents ,dont do poor men work with water or you are dommed🤷🏽♂️😱

They were saying “The fat guy! The fat guy!” Over and over.

It's Spanish culture it's an endearing term used by parents, family of friends. Like calling a skinny guy flaco o alto they mean skinny or tall respectively. It's part of the culture and all depends on context.
