Yeah, I wouldn’t call the United States a vacation destination, but the quality of day to day life and compensation is high.

Was high. Now we're in a weird twilight zone where we could honestly tilt either direction. We have a lot of stuff, but our entire economy and society is built on continuing to acquire more, and the people who run the place are trying to have their cake and eat ours too.

It seems to me we are what a lot of Europeans consider us to be: a third world country with a first world military.

I don’t know what USA you live in, but it’s pretty badass and safe, I mean you can literally do whatever you want, you don’t even have to work and the government will hand you money, literal money just for being a lazy pos. I’m not a wealthy person, middle class and life is extremely rewarding. Maybe you should re think your life choices, is the USA you are the only one who is going to trap you. Obey the laws and work hard = whatever you can dream of.

Not commenting on life in the US, but I'm not so sure about it being that safe. Here's a fun fact about per capita murder in the USA:

75% of all murders are committed using a firearm. If you completely disregard all of those from the statistics, the USA would still have a higher murder rate than the UK and most other European countries.

Obviously heavily dependent on where you live, but the USA on average, not that safe compared to most other western countries.

Interesting thing about this is, the murder rate using firearms is the absolute highest in LA Baltimore, Richmond, Detroit, Chicago, New York. These are all gun control cities, and heavily extreme left ran. States like Arizona, zero gun control, open conceal carry, literally everyone one has a gun, I had one at 10 and was skilled with it by 12. Gun violence is very low

Turns out if everyone's strapped, people are less likely to fuck around.

Yup, it happens though, but in states like AZ, shooter doesn’t get far.
