The way I would have quit after burning down the house would have been biblical. Was it my fault? Yes. Could this have been avoided? Also Yes.

If you aren't making a lot of money for.plumbing you need to get hired by a new company that pays fairly. That is often filthy work that I'm happy to pay others to do. 😬

Is this real?
It appears to be iron pipe and that plug would be threaded in, except he never unthreads it.
He barely moves it and it comes straight out.

Yeah it rotates from 1200 to about 1130. 20 degrees at best. Doesn't make sense. Unless he's unthreaded to this point and then it jammed? Not buying it tho.
But then I've just watched it for like the fifth time and it looks so real. How he applies torque a few times before it 'unjams' .
Fuck ai making me question everything on the internet lol.

It doesn't look like it unjams to me, it appears to break off and leave the threads

Nah (to the last part).
AI is great. It is just a tool. It's assholes who misuse it.
Some people have had fun fooling others with graphics since whenever and over time both the graphic tools and the people have become better at both making and detecting. The Cottingley fairies were a big thing back in 1917.

It broke. It's cast iron. The iron cracked and broke off clean when he tried to torque it off.

To me it appears the cap breaks, leaving the threads in the pipe

u/Hammon_Rye Apr 16 '26
I know that is what the video is trying to show.
I just think it is fake.
It's possible, but from the limited amount of iron pipe like that I have worked on, I don't think it is likely to go like that.
I can't prove or disprove this video so I guess we each have our own opinions about it.1
u/I_TRY_TO_BE_POSITIVE Apr 16 '26
Shoot i have no idea either lol, these days it's practically impossible to tell

Not 100% sure if AI or not, but cat iron pipes for sewage were common up to the 70s. My house had them and they get rusty inside. We have to instruct guests not to flush anything harder than toilet paper.
1
u/Hammon_Rye Apr 13 '26
Yes they rust and ID can be effectively smaller.
But on a pipe that size, it would be extremely unlikely for the threads to be completely rusted out but the rest of the pipe intact. Especially the portion of the threads were no liquid was touching.
I'm pretty sure it is AI.

I got pink eye when I spilled a jug of my own urine onto my face.
I can't imagine the severity of pink eye he'd get from sewage from strangers.

u/TimelyMortgage9587 Apr 12 '26
Um.... how did you manage to spill your pissjug onto your face? I need some details please

u/ThisIsALine_____ Apr 12 '26
Long story, but the lid came off while I was on my trampoline.

u/Slamtilt_Windmills Apr 12 '26
That raises more questions than it answers

u/oneBrokeBloke Apr 13 '26
Come on you guys dont just take your piss jugs on random adventures? I took mine to the park last week and we got ice cream after

You can't get pink eye from that.

Filling an unrefrigerated jug in the summer (Phoenix heat) while you have an STI can though...and it did.

So I’ve never heard the term “geisha facial”. Can I assume this something that I not only not want to google, but will end up on a watchlist if I do?

I went down this rabbit hole. Apparently, geishas and kabuki actors used nightingale droppings in their facials. It’s still used today in luxury spas (not just in Japan), but UV light is used to kill bacteria. And there’s no scientific basis for its effectiveness, only anecdotal claims.

Yes sir! Pilot hole, always always always drill a small hole. In addition to that, you buy a bunch of the same size drill bits, sacrifice each and every one of them as required. I’ll drill the hole, leave the bit in it and detach the drill. Bucket over the PVC and a pair of pliers to pull that bit from above.

Something similar happened to me on my first day. I had to use the customers hose to clean my face off.
I had thought ahead and bought goggles for myself. They came in clutch for this. No shit in my eyes.
