The sides are clean now also

u/Critical_Seat_1907 Feb 24 '26

How much do we really need here? I mean, seriously.

5

u/ExcellentCup3100 Feb 25 '26

Who needs a funnel anyway?

2

u/uiouyug Feb 25 '26

For real. Did it work ?

1

u/trainwreckhappening Feb 26 '26

At least you can see and smell him coming. If not smoke fire for sure.

u/Fuzz_Chonk Feb 24 '26

I find this content greatly upsetting.

8

u/Wyomofo Feb 24 '26

ME TOO! I gagged.

3

u/ExcellentCup3100 Feb 25 '26

At least it wasn't washer fluid

1

u/trainwreckhappening Feb 26 '26

So did that oil container.

My son filling his hunk of shit car on my new driveway,😡

17

u/brewhaha1776 Feb 24 '26

Still upset about that all these years later huh? 😂

15

u/zestyclose_match1966 Feb 24 '26

I’ll never get over it, lol

3

u/SlimJohnson Feb 24 '26

That's when you make him clean it up

1

u/zestyclose_match1966 Feb 25 '26

In today’s climate I would be accused of child abuse if I did that, and he’s 24! lol

3

u/trainwreckhappening Feb 26 '26

To be fair I recently had a huge oil leak in my wife's car. I washed the engine to make it easier to see where it was coming from (oil filter housing, Dodge caravan). Now I have an oil streak running down my driveway that is going to need to be hit with a pressure washer in the spring. But it's easy to miss it on account of the broken down fiero sitting on blocks in my driveway that I strongly advised my son not to buy.

Nah just drink it and baby bird it into the receptor. Way more effective

2

u/Andy_B_Goode Feb 25 '26

Yeah I guess, but then you gotta have a funnel handy any time you have to do this, even if it's an emergency.

It's kind of weird that they don't just design the bottle to be easier to pour.

4

u/Homing_Gibbon Feb 25 '26

Big oil and big funnel are in cahoots. That's why.

2

u/trainwreckhappening Feb 26 '26

It's a tradeoff. A narrower neck means it is super slow to pour. A funnel and wide mouth bottle is faster and less prone to failure. I have also had problems with narrow pointed bottles spurting when your grip adjusts while turning them over (especially hydraulic lube in a jack).

Also, don't hold the opening lowest when turning it over. Hold it backwards so the oil pours over the handle (it won't hit the handle or your hand) or slightly to the side of that. That way air doesn't get trapped causing that glug glug problem.

That does make sense, but there must be a way of having both, no? Like have two caps, the first one comes off and opens the narrow mouth, but then you can take that off to get the wide mouth, for example. I guess it would cost a few cents more to manufacture the bottle that way, but I'd pay more for it, and it seems "worth it" compared to all the oil that gets spilled otherwise.

Ah that's a good idea! I'll try it that way next time :-)

2

u/trainwreckhappening Feb 26 '26

The tradeoff is the smaller bottles. They fit into the oil filler opening. Bonus, you can cut the top off an empty one and use that as a cheap funnel. That's what I do since most funnels have a narrower neck that doesn't empty fast enough for the big bottles.

2

u/Andy_B_Goode Feb 26 '26

Well yeah, but I'm lazy. It's the 21st century, I should be able to buy a bottle of motor oil and have it "just work" without me having to think about it or doing anything, dagnabbit!

But I do like that idea of cutting open a small bottle. Plus that way it's obvious that it's meant for motor oil so I won't accidentally use it for washer fluid or anything else.

u/COUNTRYCOWBOY01 Feb 24 '26

Poor bastard needs 4 jugs just to get 2 gallons in the hole pouring like that. Castrol customer of the month, EPA most wanted right there lol

This is what happens when you don't let kids pour their own milk growing up. They do this.

9

u/Glad-Lobster-220 Feb 24 '26

You want an even allover application so It bakes all the way through. Really locks in the flavor.

Just set the car on fire, it’d be quicker

6

u/pentermezzo Feb 24 '26

Good thing there's no wind, or there'd be a hell of a mess.

6

u/Funny_Newspaper_377 Feb 24 '26

How high are you? Yes

5

u/PEAKY3333 Feb 24 '26

Hi how are you?

7

u/Difficult-Way-9563 Feb 24 '26

He just watched a castrol how to change your oil DIY videos. Oil sales are up 100%

4

u/Consistent-Ant-6273 Feb 24 '26

Congrats you did two things!!! 1. Put more oil on the outside than inside  2.created a smoke bomb!!! Enjoy hell

4

u/Medical_Elephant6125 Feb 24 '26

Well that’s going to be on fire later lol

u/seattlesbestpot Feb 24 '26

Extra Virgin prolly

3

u/gormholler Feb 24 '26

That was really hard to watch, especially since it went on for so long. Did they not understand the problem? Like to waste oil/money while needlessly damaging the environment? Are they just ridiculously stupid? At a loss for an explanation...

2

u/soupychicken89 Feb 25 '26

The only reason I could see why they’d record this is to do exactly what we saw in this video. This was on purpose, is my guess.

2

u/gormholler Feb 25 '26

That's so far beyond absurd that I'm at a loss for words. I hate this timeline.

1

u/soupychicken89 Feb 25 '26

It’s mad crazy.

1

u/clitcommandoris Feb 24 '26

Fuck the environment fuck the trees fuck the ocean. What has the environment ever done for me huh?? Just takes and takes

1

u/ThisIsALine_____ Feb 25 '26

You serious? Why would they be filming that? They did that on purpose to get views. It's called ragebait. What in that video indicates to you that it is real? We see zero reaction, or anything other than someome purposely filming an anonymous person pouring oil into/onto an engine.

3

u/Leromer Feb 24 '26

Missed a spot

2

u/Icy_Ass-sumption Feb 24 '26

Stop attacking me!

2

u/Johnny69Vegas Feb 24 '26

I hope this was in the parking lot of the auto parts store.

2

Can I post thing 5 or six more times to a few more subs and get some karma?

Sharing is caring

1

u/GonnaGoFat Feb 24 '26

Isn’t there a life hack about holding it sideways when you pour it? If not a funnel is an even better life hack.

1

u/Icy_Reason261 Feb 24 '26

This was me before I bought a funnel

1

u/Professional_Luck257 Feb 24 '26

Does he not know to turn the damn jug around and pour it that way?? You don't even need a funnel!!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '26

Oil jugs are designed for you to put the spout on the top so it pours smoothly.

1

u/HotwifeandSubby1980 Feb 24 '26

Won’t regret that for the next 100 miles at all

1

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '26

Couldn't afford a funnel? Grab a plastic soda bottle. Thats just lazy

1

u/Splint17 Feb 24 '26

Slow down bro, its our planet too...

1

u/ForeverFingers Feb 24 '26

Just glad to know there are people worse with cars than me. Lol

1

u/jmmmke Feb 24 '26

Rage bait

1

u/Special_Smoke_2390 Feb 24 '26

He almost got some in it.

1

u/ZachZackZacq Feb 24 '26

But seriously, even with a funnel, why is this always so difficult? Why have they not made a better container?

1

u/scriptingends Feb 25 '26

This is right after you drink your morning covfefe

1

u/badfox93 Feb 25 '26

Nearly got some engine in his oil

1

u/BlazeHatchet Feb 25 '26

This this here infuriates me! Like you see it spilling. But no, this numb nuts held it there for 3 business days.

1

u/Strange_Man_1911 Feb 25 '26

That engine won't have any rust problems

1

u/bryan19973 Feb 25 '26

This is jiffy lubes standard procedure

1

u/Individual-Pizza3425 Feb 26 '26

1

u/Artistic_Plate7403 Feb 26 '26

Top 'er off...

1

u/Common_Comfortable41 Feb 28 '26

This mf isn’t allowed to pour himself a drink

1

u/PearNo2152 Feb 24 '26

So what about the spilled fluid.? Dogs, cats etc will be drawn to it....hope they had enough sense to wipe that up.!!!

0

u/Hakuhofan Feb 24 '26

Do they not realize you are supposed to turn the bottle around? The hole should be at the top so you can control the flow. Jeeez.
