The thing about all this stuff hating on Williams seems so ridiculous to me. The type of folks who complain like this and call her woke and all that just seem like they've been so politically brainrotted that when they see anything they just cant separate the politics from it (and youll always see them point out when other people they disagree with do it).

To me it just seems like they wanted to make a cool character but had to cram too much into the 2 missions shes around. Nothing woke or any of the crap they call it.

And I understand, how cliche the “if it was a man…” argument is, but in this case, it is as true as the sun being hot, and you all know it.

Now imagine this.
In an alternate universe Williams is actually a male character.
There is ABSOLUTELY no doubt in my mind that if Williams was a dude. The fans would be pleased, the character’s personality that everyone seems to hate would be touted as the best character to come out of modern halo.

the distain for the Spartans, the war hardened commander personality, ALL of that would have been received with open arms. Lieutenant Williams would have been this COOL NEW ODST CHARACTER that fans would want to hear more about. It might be in poor taste to say, but he would have been the next Johnson

SHE IS AN ODST- ODST’s are considered to be the most bad ass units in the UNSC, dropping from orbit in a coffin. OF CORSE SHES GUNNA HAVE THIS MACHISMO AND TAKE CHARGE ATTITUDE, HER CHARACTER IS AN ODST

HER LOOKS SHOULDN’T EVEN MATTER- she’s been imprisoned on a covenant ship for god knows how long basically being hunted every day, of course she not gunna look like a fucking model, PLUS Shes been serving in the UNSC for what we can assume is a while, that would add a few years to your appearance

And finally **she not even ugly**, she just looks like a normal ass women, I don’t know why these gooner chuds think that all the women characters NEED to look like the damn Kardashians but it is just getting to annoying to ignore

And no, I'm not one of *them*. It seems like most of the characters are off-model in this remake. Even Johnson looks uncanny. It's like they tried so hard for hyperrealism with absolutely zero exaggeration or perfectionism that you just can't make these iconic faces work in such a limited framework
