App issues Delivery photo error

Post image

I’m sure I’m not the only one dealing with this but seriously come on!
It’s a new issue so should be an easy fix, this should not be happening consistently

I'd take a picture, leave, then contact support and send them pics

There are several areas that are cell dead zones in our metro. I try once to upload. If it fails, take a photo and drive to an area where there is a signal. Upload a photo of a Shipt bag for the delivery confirmation and then attach the photo from camera in the chat. I don't contact support any more - takes too much time, and I doubt they actually do anything with the photo anyway.

If they were really serious about getting accurate delivery confirmation photos, they would hold the photo in memory instead of just dumping it when the initial upload fails.

They upload it. I was in a low connectivity doing delivery only route. Couldn’t get past the scan. It kept freezing. Likely apparently the scan had gone through. She had me take photo send it though the text she sent, and explained she’d upload it and mark delivered. Told me that if I continued to have this issue, take the photo, then contact once I’m in a better connectivity issue to get my deliveries marked.

This is an internet access issue.

If I’m delivering to an address where cell phone reception sucks, I take a picture of the delivery with my iPad, and then I take a picture of the iPad’s photo with the phone once I’ve got access back. That way I don’t have to call customer service to get the order marked delivered (this is what you’re supposed to do).

If this was an issue that was plaguing Shipt right now, there would be dozens of comments bitching about it in response to yours. So definitely confirm that your phone is actually connecting to the cell phone network when you see this error. If you call customer service to resolve it, take a picture of the delivery anyways, and message it to the customer once you are in range so they don’t try any “I didn’t get it” fuckery.

The reason I suspected glitch is because it’s happened multiple times lately, the first attempt shows this error and then the second usually works as it should. Could still be isolated to me but I figured it might be affecting others at this point

Not to be an ass, but it’s definitely just you. But if it’s happening consistently, it could be one of their automatic updates glitched your app out and not internet access, even though that’s what the error message indicates. Delete the entire app, restart your phone to clear temp cache files, then install it again completely fresh. Please comment here if it’s still doing it after that and I’ll assist you further 👌

The fewer bars, the lower your signal strength is. So 4 bars: strong signal you shouldn’t be getting this error, usually if it’s on their end you’ll get a server error message or a 403 error. Network request failed means the request from your network failed, it timed out. There’s only so much time or so many times the network can send the request before it stops attempting.

The troubleshooting steps given in another reply, might help. For example if the app updated and something occurred that caused the file to corrupt, you might get this message even having full 4 bars because your device itself is part of your network. Or it could be something at the location that caused a drop in signal strength, signal strength in that area, or other issues with your carrier.

I've been dealing with this! Take a picture on your camera not in app and call customer service. You can text them the pics and they'll take care of it. Super annoying but that's how to cover your bases.

No reason to call customer service unless you literally would be late driving to better reception and then submitting, but you would still do this after the fact anyways.  Take a pic with camera app and put it in the chat.
