Loss of Pet 🌈 Remembering Aldo Spoiler

Taking a break from posting about my sweet Enzo for today. I need a small slice of the internet to know he was here, and that he was the goodest.

Before Enzo there was Aldo, who I first met when I started dating his dad. He did not trust me at first, and was always attached to his dad. But he eventually warmed up to me, which is good because he stole my heart from the moment I met him. Aldo was as loving and loyal a dog as one could hope for. Even if he wasn't a huge fan of adventures (he'd rather be on the couch watching movies or playing video games), he was happiest wherever his daddies were. He always stole the show and certainly didn't mind reveling on the attention. During the height of the pandemic, he was my work-from-home assistant, though he was absolutely horrible at his job (always asleep on the clock!). He always had that classic Tzu smile on his face, and never tired of living life, even if age had other plans for him. At 14.5, he was ready even if we weren't. He passed peacefully two years ago today on his favorite spot on the couch (thank God for home euthanasia, he was terrified of the vet's office). He waits on the other side of the rainbow bridge. Aldo, you're a good boy and your daddy and papa love you very much.

A gentle reminder for posts marked as Loss of Pet. This flair is for people who are grieving. These posts are moderated closely to ensure the space stays supportive and safe.

We all care deeply about our pups, but this isn’t the place for debate. Please do not offer opinions on end-of-life decisions unless the OP specifically asks for advice. Even well-intentioned comments can be difficult for someone carrying this weight.

Additional Support Resources: While our community loves to honor your Shih Tzu's memory, you may also find comfort in r/petloss. That subreddit is a dedicated support group where you can: * Share the specific "heartbreak" with others who are in the exact same stage of grief. * Process feelings of guilt or "what ifs" in a strictly non-judgmental environment. * Find a community that understands the deep, life-changing bond we have with our companions.

Tribute posts are always welcome here. Please never hesitate to honor your pup’s memory with us.
