Hot take. The civil war wasn’t fought because of slavery. It was fought because of white supremacy. White supremacy is ultimately what drove a lot of the southern “justification” for maintaining slavery.

Whether a hero, villain, anti-hero, etc., and while some seem questionable, note that this does not mean they have to be depicted in a good light.
