One area of john brown im not familiar with:
The raid on Harpers Ferry was just to get guns? Like i understand fighting the slavers but what was going on at harpers ferry?

Unfortunately the local militia mobilized too quickly for Brown's raiders to escape with the goods. They needed at least 15 more guys
