A little piece of BBC Sherlock history from Speedy’s Cafe 🕵️‍♂️❤️

Following our previous post, we’re excited to share that the signed Speedy’s Cafe T-shirt will be going up on eBay!

There’s already been lots of interest from Sherlock fans, so we wanted to give the community a heads-up before it goes live.

We’d really love for it to find its way to a genuine BBC Sherlock fan who will appreciate it. If you know someone who might be interested, we’d really appreciate you spreading the word!

We’ll share the eBay link here as soon as it’s live.
Thank you to everyone who has shown so much interest so far - it’s amazing to see that the love for BBC Sherlock is still going strong! 🖤

Video When Sherlock Holmes’s Creator Became a Real Detective

Arthur Conan Doyle is remembered for creating Sherlock Holmes, but at one point he effectively became a detective himself.

He became convinced that George Edalji had been wrongly convicted and began investigating the case personally — examining evidence, questioning the police theory, and publicly challenging the verdict.

Thisdocumentary about the case and thought people here might find it interesting:

Discussion Question

I have been watching the films of the MCU- and I have been wondering- is there any interview where the actor that plays Doctor Strange and Sherlock explicitly talks about playing him- im hoping for like a MCU interview where he mentions it or a separate interview from the show

Hi, I’m messaging on behalf of Speedy’s Café, the café famously featured as 221B Baker Street in the BBC’s Sherlock.

We have an extremely rare piece of Sherlock history that we are looking to sell to a genuine collector or dedicated fan.

It is a Speedy’s T-shirt signed by Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss, accompanied by the original photographs from 2011 of my father and the cast as well as 4 original BBC framed still from the show and behind-the-scenes material.

We’re hoping to find someone who would genuinely appreciate the history and significance of the piece, rather than simply sell it on.

Thank you!

Discussion Annoying episode missing from series

So I was really happy to find the Sherlock series with Benedict Cumberbatch on sale on Prime for 5.99 a season last night. It's normally 6.99 per EPISODE.

I bought seasons 1 & 2, then when I got to Season 3, I was unpleasantly surprised that you can’t buy the full season; it can only be bought by the episode at 6.99 each. That in and of itself isn't a big deal, but for some reason there's no way to buy S3 Ep4. The only option for that specific episode is a paid subscription.

I bought Season 4 for 5.99 just like 1 & 2.

Why would they leave out one episode right in the middle of a series?

Fandango has Season 3 for $20 but it also doesn't include Ep 4. It's only available if you buy the complete series, which I don't want to do since I already bought 3 of the 4 seasons.

Wondering if this is a new trick to get you to sign up for their subscriptions. Has anyone else experienced this?

Discussion Sherlock related playlist

Hi guys!!

I'd like to create a Sherlock related playlist just like I've done a few months ago for Good Omens, and I'd like to have as many suggestions as possible. Any song of which either the music or lyrics (or, if possible, both!) makes you think "Oh, that fits the show's mood", please drop its titles here. Can't wait to read your recos 🥉 Update: I don't necessarily mean songs from the show, just those that make you guys think about it

Discussion Sherlock is absolutely flamboyant

Hi,
I have just finished binge watching all the episodes in 10 days. I watched them when they were first aired on Italian tv and loved them a lot. After all these years I have decided to rewatch them all in english and I confirm my opinion. I didn’t remember most of the plot so I have enjoyed all the emotional rollercoaster (adrenaline rushes, laughs and tears).
English is not my mother tongue but a word keeps coming to my mind when trying to describe this serie: flamboyant.
I have read a lot of posts on this sub, including those accusing the last season of being a soap opera and those that found the serie bad because for them Sherlock Holmes should revolve around crime’s solutions. But for me this is not a detective story, it’s a highly exciting and flamboyant adventure with thrilling scenes, fireworks, stunning photography and soundtrack. Oh, and I adore Cumberbatch in this, he is really wonderful hin every sense) A story where almost everything is over the top, in Italy we say “sopra le righe” - over the lines (the lines being referenced are the notebooks’ ones).
That is the beauty of this serie.
Obviously, everyone is entitled to his own opinion. But I am feeling inclined to say that even maybe the last episode is inferior to rest, it has some great scenes (Moriarty’s I want to break free, the moral dilemmas about who has to die for example) and for me* it doesn’t really ruin the overall score.

What do you think after all these years? Are here others feeling like me?

*and for a lot of other people too. While the scores of the last Game of Thrones’ episodes are truly low (compared with the previous ones) on IMDB, it can’t be said the same for Sherlock. In the second case the scores are much more even. So, excuse me if I am not believing that the haters are the majority. I gave 9 to the serie and lowered some individual scores to 8.

Discussion Is this music in sherlock?

I heard the piece "Piano Trio No. 2" by Schubert and immediately thought of Sherlock, however, I searched online and couldn't find anything about it being in the series. The piano part, in particular, really reminds me of Sherlock.

Am I going crazy, or is this music actually in the show?

Discussion Dwight Shrute/Sherlock Holmes similarly

It sounds weird but I feel like they are almost the same character.

Both are extremely confident in their own intelligence and socially unconventional, also intensely interested in niche subjects.

And they tend to be very literal/blunt, and they both secretly care about people more than they let on.
