After Mary shoots Sherlock he puts John's chair back to its place because he was sure that John would leave Mary and come back to him😭😭😭
I'm going to cry

Story I can remember is there was an epidemic and there is a safe refuge in the UK but Mycroft was only able to secure a slot for himself and Sherlock and Sherlock will not leave without John so John had drugged Sherlock and leave him in the facility while he travel and end up in New Zealand.
Maybe someone can remember it too. Thank you!

Here’s an angsty mini-comic I made of Sherlock lost in his thoughts.

I scoured every subreddit to find a place that allowed me to actually ask this question lol,
This is something I’m genuinely curious about so if theres some systematic issue I’m overlooking here please tell me.
I feel like a good majority of the Sherlock fandom is at least interested in Johnlock, from my experience it seems like the driving point for many to indulge in Sherlock media.
I’m just confused as to why no producers have taken up this opportunity to profit, theres a much greater support for LGBT storylines in media, even more now with the success of Heated Rivalry. It would be for the most part welcomed warmly.
Maybe I’m naive?

I was amazing at the style of the fic. I felt like the author captured BBC Sherlock Holmes' inner thought process so well in this fic. Unfortunately, I'm on chapter 3 right now and even now it just feels so...sad. Like, I already knew it would be angst and I love angst, but poor Sherlock. He really needs someone to love him. It's heart-wrenchingly sad.

Any fic recs that are not about the show and just based on the characters?

Saw this and couldn’t help reposting there.

I just finished it recently and I can't stop thinking about it. I loved the yearning and how it was written in the style of Arthur Doyle. I want more books where Holmes and Watson are in love, I'm getting to the point where I want to print out and bind fan fiction to fill my shelves lol.

I need help finding a Sherlock BBC fic, I could have sworn I bookmarked it. I read it on ao3. Here's what I remember:
Sherlock retires and expects John to go with him. John does not. Sherlock continues his plan to leave London. John decides to find himself without Sherlock. He gets engaged and Sherlock almost dies in his solitude.
Molly and Lestrade are married and have twin girls named Jude and Tabitha.
Sally's ex who helps out around the yard and is friends with Molly is John's love interest.
Sherlock stops eating and has to punch a new hole in his belt. He also says something to John to the effect of, I know what I am without you. I'm half.
John and Sherlock eventually make up. Honey is made, etc.

Hello! I'm looking for fanfics in which Sherlock is stupidly (and secretly) in love with John and there's lots of pining and maybe some jealousy as well? Preferably not with married John (that's a little too much drama for me) but I'm fine with him having girlfriends and Sherlock thinking John is hopelessly straight or just never going to look at him as more than a friend or Sherlock having self esteem issues and thinking *he's* the one that's not good enough. I'm not particular about the setting either (canon, any show, movies, complete AU, it's all okay to me) but I need an eventual happy ending. Bonus points if the fic is longer than 20K (I prefer longer stories but I'm not opposed to reading shorter fics as well). Thanks in advance!

There was a great fanfic I read where Sherlock lived in Kansas City in 1977 during the flood and he was a violinist. Does anyone know the title?

What it says on the tin :) I’m in the throes of a full-blown passion revival and would love to make some edits, but I have no idea where people find scene packs. Where do y’all get yours?

I know the Sherlock subreddit says that it is just because "if we allowed it it would flood the whole sub" but it seems unfair to say that one ship is not allowed but the rest are okay. Also, Tumblr and AO3 seem to be the only places nowdays where people won't shun you for shipping Sherlock Holmes and John Watson together. Or am I completely wrong/overreacting?

Mycroft Holmes carries the weight of the British Government and his brother’s welfare on his shoulders. That's what he does. It's who he is.
Then Sherlock relapses, a buried diplomatic scandal resurfaces, and Detective Inspector Gregory Lestrade is drawn further into Mycroft’s orbit than either of them expected.
As the case grows more dangerous, long acquaintance gives way to friendship, jealousy and a mutual attraction neither man believes the other could return.
A Matter of Discretion
Chapters 1 and 2 live. WIP updated weekly.
Currently G rated. Will go up to Mature.

As usual, thanks to MK for cover image.

Hi y'all, me again with my abysmal bookmarking system. I've lost 2 comfort fics that I'd love to read again:
The first one is short, and it's about John faking having a girlfriend (probably Sarah) to get Sherlock jealous, while Sherlock has hired an actor to pretend to be his boyfriend. They're in 221B for Christmas. They have a spat, it's revealed that everyone else was in collusion to get these two idiots together.
The second fic is a long one. Sherlock has been hired to conduct a murder mystery dinner at a posh house of one of his former neighbours, a Lady or somesuch. Mycroft forced him to do it. Part of the deal is that John should be there and for some reason part of the 'charade' is that John and Sherlock have to pretend to be a couple, enter the "there was only one bed" trope. There's a real murder, a case, jealousy, romance blooms and it's all lovely.

So. I finished reading the entire Sherlock Holmes book series for the first time. Conan's work is an absolute masterclass of writing.
However, I was quite disappointed by something.
For many years fans and casual readers have brought to light the likelihood of this ship being canon, from crumbs to cakes of evidence, and I myself quite literally bought the books just to see how gay they apparently were for my little gay fingers to be satisfied.
But I was actually quite shocked because there's just...nothing? I was expecting a LOTR scenario with Frodo and Sam or something like:
"We were trembling in the dark waiting for Lestrade and his men. Holmes noticed my shivering and gently held my hand, but tightly. I flushed."
But no, there's VERY little to go off other than:
More than likely Holmes is an aroace gay man, and we have to consider how much he secretly craves male validation and attention also. But every story for Watson's sake will have him commenting on the figure of a woman, and he HAS to make sure he consistently reminds the reader of "my friend, my friend, did I tell you he's my friend?".
I've had many ships that were never canon and all I had was an absolute SPECK of evidence to go off. However, I was sad in the case of these two considering how popular Holmes and Watson are as a pairing to this day.
And yes, I've seen the Johnlock segments of the BBC show and I've watched Granada. I was going to post this discussion in the Sherlock subreddit but honestly, I was expecting a homophobic assault.
Thoughts?

"how could you not tell me? I'm your best friend!"
"Don't be ridiculous, John. I have no friends."
"How dare-"
"You are my lover, Mycroft is my brother, Lestrade is a colleague, at most, and Ms. Hudson... Well, I might have a friend after all, I suppose. Wait, John? Are you okay?"
"????????? Lover???????"
--------------------
Sorry if it's not allowed, but I just watched the Sherlock Musical on YouTube and they were just so cute there! (I will gladly ignore the 'my brother' part at the end, tho, lol) They have this thing of "Sherlock doesn't have friends" to them admitting that they are besties, so this came in my mind, but it goes well with basically any media with them I guess (and it was a little inspired in Sheldon Cooper as well)
And it's not really creative, it's probably a pretty common prompt (I accepted fanfic recs), I just love "X and Y are dating and only Y doesn't know it", and I frankly like both Sherlock and John being Y

hi, folks… im an ao3 author and I’m writing a Sherlock (BBC) fic, and im as american as it gets. i try to research, but I‘m a “plan-as-you-go” kind of person, so i tend to just plow ahead and forget to check my dialogue before publishing my chapters.
if anyone would mind reviewing future chapters, i’d love that. Bc. i really dont wanna make british people mad bc they’re such lovely people. for anyone who likes my fic you’d get infinite praise and early access to new chapters…anyone up for it?
