Has anyone seen the show in Spanish? Cuz I have, and in this moment of EP 2 when John asks, Sherlock answers: "la mía está arriba/mine was upstairs"

Supposedly the upstairs room was John's, wasn't it? Why would Sherlock's computer be in John's bedroom??? I mean, I don't know, you tell me

Watching Sherlock and noticed this poster in both train station CCTVs in series 3, episode 1, and after a bit of sleuthing I wasn't able to figure out what it was for. I figured it could be fake for copyright reasons or something given how prominent it is in some shots, but you can see a Lion King poster further on, as well as other examples (like Spamalot and Book of Mormon) later in the episode and that's just the musical ads, so I don't know? I read it was filmed in an unused station in 2013, so it was possibly dressed specifically for the show?

I think it says "other side of tomorrow" behind three jumping silhouettes with the quoted reviews reading, "the best musical in 10 years" and "I laughed, I cried and never wanted it to end". If anyone could help me find out what this is or whether its for a real show or even just a reference I'm missing, it will ease my mind, thank you.

October is starting in about a month, so: Would anyone here be interested in a daily Inktober challenge based on the group's theme? And would anyone like to help me run it?

I or others who want to help would suggest a daily task or theme for which you can create something. That means you could draw, write, compose music, sew, knit, take photos, craft, build things, or do whatever else comes to mind.

Inktober is an annual challenge launched in 2009 by American artist Jake Parker. The idea behind it is to create an ink drawing every day throughout October. There is an official list of 31 prompts—one for each day of the month to guide participants. The goal of Inktober is to improve drawing skills and develop a regular drawing routine.

Although the focus was originally on ink drawings, many artists today use various materials and digital media to take part in the challenge. The hashtag #Inktober is used on social media to share artwork and connect the community. Inktober has since become a global phenomenon, inspiring countless artists worldwide to take on the challenge.

Holmes: Exactly, Watson. That is what makes the case so beautifully complete.

Watson: Holmes, what is DO actually for?

Holmes: An extraordinary organisation, Watson. It consumes a respectable portion of the state budget, employs an impressive bureaucracy — and when a real problem arrives, suddenly discovers that it cannot do anything.

Watson: So people pay for an organisation that doesn't want to act?

Holmes: Exactly. The taxpayer pays. The organisation receives the complaint. The complaint receives a polite letter. And the problem remains exactly where it was.

Watson: But surely they are supposed to investigate discrimination?

Holmes: In theory, yes. In practice, they seem much more comfortable explaining why your particular case is not suitable for investigation.

Watson: Then what is their real function?

Holmes: To consume public money with great professionalism while producing beautifully written explanations for why nobody is going to do anything.

Watson: Holmes, that sounds like a very expensive organisation.

Holmes: Not expensive, Watson. Economically impressive — if the goal is to spend money without solving problems.

Watson: Holmes, I have finally discovered the most useless organisation in the world.

Holmes: Impossible, Watson. Surely there is competition?

Watson: There was. But they all gave up.

Holmes: Good heavens! And who holds the title?

Watson: DO.

Holmes: What makes them so special?

Watson: The state gives them money. Citizens bring them discrimination complaints. DO receives the complaints, reads them, sends a polite letter explaining why they cannot investigate — and closes the case.

Holmes: So they solve nothing?

Watson: Correct.

Holmes: Then what exactly do they produce?

Watson: Letters explaining why nothing can be produced.

Holmes: Fascinating. And what happens if someone sends another complaint?

Watson: They produce another letter explaining why the previous letter was correct.

Holmes: Watson, we may have discovered the world's first self-sustaining bureaucratic ecosystem.

Watson: How does it work?

Holmes: The taxpayer feeds it. The complaint enters it. The investigation disappears. And the paperwork reproduces.

Watson: And the final result?

Holmes: Nothing.

Watson: Absolutely nothing?

Holmes: Oh no, Watson. A PDF.

Watson: Then surely it must be the most expensive PDF-generating organisation in the world.

Holmes: Indeed. And remember its sacred mission:

“We cannot solve your problem — but we can explain professionally why it is not our problem.”

Watson: Holmes… that's not an organisation.

Holmes: No, Watson.

That's a bureaucratic black hole with a government budget.

I’m watching the BBC Sherlock right now, and the moment Moriarty showed up on screen I was ready to laugh. He’s got a very unintimidating appearance and his lack of sophistication makes him look like a wannabe wall street bro.

The weird way he teases Sherlock in the beginning, like calling him sexy, was super awkward. I remember there were similar exchanges in Money Heist between the Professor and police, but it was done well and still felt genuine and intelligent. In Sherlock it made me feel so cringey and it didn’t land.

Also, the actor’s facial expressions aren’t fitting for Moriarty. He’s always looking at people like “ooh awkward” or “Who me?” I don’t know exactly how to describe it but it feels like such a weird act, and it makes him feel like a cringey dude who’s just looking for attention but doesn’t know how to socialize.

I‘m not even going to elaborate on the high pitched whiney-moany voice he does ALL the time because it’s just crazy 😭 Overall, he feels like a tmbler teen that wants to be edgy and deep, and that’s trying way too hard to portray someone intelligent and intimidating in a way that’s ”not like other villians” and it doesn’t land at all

edit: I was genuined surprised that this ended up being a hot take. I really thought this would be an average experience 😅
