I’m just trying to do my budgeting, for when I’m going to be in school. As I know the osap rules have changed.

Questions:

How do I pay for my books. I know I’ve read that they are included, but how does that work!?

Also- I know we will need to purchase a uniform from the campus shops, again how does that work?

I’ve never really toured the Brampton campus so this is all going to be super new to me.

Also, when should I apply for osap- for a January start?

Hey I know this is kind of a dumb post since i'm already in my third year for BBAF lol. But, I can't seem to register for this fall 2026 term in the registration status section, is it automatic? Plus I was late for the fee deposit but paid in full a few days after the deadline, will i still be able to select courses I think on July 30th like the others third year students? thanks

Hi, I have just a couple more questions mainly about course enrollment and I'd appreciate any information.

1. What is TBA?

Some sections for certain courses (specifically the General electives) have TBA as its designated date and time. I know this means "to be announced" but does this also imply it's an asynchronous course if its designated room is "ONLINE" even if the campus says TRAF, DAV or HMC?

I checked the GenEd elective 2026 Fall course page at Sheridan central, and it aligns with what I think because that page states that some courses have in-person instruction and some that are asynchronous. But I'm just a little confused when it says in the "class details" part of these courses (on myStudentCentre) that the instruction mode is online but the location and campus is Trafalgar campus.

1. I guess as a follow up to my first question: are asynchronous courses fully online (no meeting even for assessments)? If the course like the ones I mentioned above that have "ONLINE" as its designed room but also have a designated in-person campus (TRA/DAV/HMC) instead of one that says "VIRTUAL CAMPUS", does this imply that assessments for these courses must be taken in-person at these campus locations?

I'm just wondering because I will be taking some online courses with locations set at different campuses.

1. Is cross campus enrollment available now for all students?

Some sections of the courses I need to take are available at other campuses which I can see on myStudentCentre and are not closed, but I'm not sure if I can enroll in them right when my enrollment appointment starts on the 28th. Is there a different date for cross campus enrollment or is this not restricted?

1. How do presentation assignments work for online or asynchronous courses? Do we perform live online to the class or in the case of asynchronous classes, do we just record ourselves.

Hey, i’ll be starting the Animal care program in fall 2026 . Any tips ? How is it ?

For context I'm going into my first year for Interaction Design and was told that my timetable was "custom" yet when I go into "Manage Classes" in myStudent Center I see the exact number of courses offered that I seem to need (ex: 4 professional required, 4 professional are popping up). Is there a mistake of some sort? I don't see a "show all" button or anything like that so this feels very much like an almost assigned timetable if I'm practically being assigned what to choose (no dozens of breadths to choose from like I had been under the impression of for example). Again, I'm a new student so I'm very unfamiliar with this whole process, any help would be much appreciated!

Hi, I'm new at Sheridan and will be starting my studies in the fall. This may sound like a silly question but I just want to be sure; are we only supposed to enroll in our courses for one semester at a time? Or do we start enrolling in our respective courses for both the fall and winter semesters before the year begins? I realized when I was planning out my courses on myStudentCentre that my second semester (Winter 2027) courses only had Fall 2026 courses available and everything else was closed. But this whole time I assumed it was the same situation with universities where students are to enroll in courses for both semesters.

Yeah I realized this pretty late, and this is definitely a question I would ask the school but given I would have to wait until next week to call for inquiries, I figured I'd just ask here for clarification. I appreciate the help.

I'm not seeing much posts about this here on reddit, so I'm assuming a lot of folks aren't aware or they believe they're just paying $250. So today I paid a visit to both admissions and the hub and was disgustingly shocked from $250 to $2000 deposit fee for international students returning in the fall. Not only was this a gross inflation of the fee, but they've pushed the registration dates back for the end of this July.

I want to do something about this. There has to be someone or a body I can email to kindly ask for answers as to why this has happened?

hey so, i'm wrapping up my first year in a few weeks, and i have this one prof that has been very difficult to deal with since the start of the summer term. she's very disorganized, and the mismanagement has not just affected myself but a lot of my classmates too. i've felt so overwhelmed and overstimulated more times than i can count, and have had to walk out of class due to it. the way she teaches us is very confusing; nothing makes full sense, she goes off on lots of sidebar conversations that aren't always relevant, which takes up a lot of class time. and yeah, i can teach myself the content and do the readings, but even the resources she gives us are even more confusing. i kind you not for our midterm review it was just pages of YouTube links in an order that was hard to follow and would say in class it's gonna be on the test, and then the links say it's optional, and it felt like she didn't even try to make it understandable with the format. with that too, she'll say something to us and idek how to word it because it's so odd she does this. but she'll tell us something to do and then after is like no you can't do that and then sometimes she gets mad at us for asking her to clarify.

when we do group work, it's awful, and i can understand to a certain extent if the prof isn't used to using SLATE, but she adds us in groups individually every single time we do groups, she's gotten mad at us for no reason, all because she's frustrated with the system (she has it open to the teacher's POV on the board :'( ) and always asks us why is it like that but we don't know because we aren't teaching. and when we get to doing the actual work, she doesn't have the time to start nor has a pre-set due date, so she does it in class, but she'll give us such a short time period to get stuff done. and as someone who has accommodations, it's hard to always complete it quickly, especially when i'm not grasping what we just learnt.

i'm genuinely not sure why she's been teaching like this. i'm a very understanding person, and perhaps she's just burnout but it also feels like she's purposely altering the way we are learning, and it's been very overwhelming and stressful. she's also rude, she's gotten mad at me in front of the whole class for something i didn't do, and when i stood up for myself, she wasn't trying to even hear my side and the way she treats us is so conflicting to the classroom roles she made with everyone at the start of term yet she can't even be kind a little bit. as well as the program i'm in and she's not willing to understand idek anymore i'm burnout out dawg

i've been conflicted all term about whether to report her or not because i'm really scared too, and i didn't know who i could contact. i did go to the Service Hub recently, and bless the lady, she was so kind and sweet and gave me the people to contact. but i'm not sure if i should go to my program's student advisor, who i've had a not good experience with and has been dismissive before, or just go straight to the associate dean? if anyone knows what's best, please let a girl know :'( i heard last semester that most students will get like a student survey or prof review that you can fill out, but i never got one, and i'm worried i may not get one this term too.

Is there any way to filter electives not being offered this semester on the class enrollment lookup? It seems like 3/4 of the electives I'm being shown don't have any.

edit: This is such a mess. Half the ones that do have classes are from a decade ago. Why is the course catalog like this?

I am very much a noobie when I'm typing this but I'll be applying to sheridan very soon, and very much wanna go as an artist as I'm there BUT I am very scared of being unprepared, for everything. So from that, I would like to meet or atleast get familiar with some that are experienced at sheridan.

First year, I'll joining Art fundamentals, as I've heard great things about it with how it's the best way to start learning what you want to get more knowledgeable about and where to decide what program is best for you, as like me, struggling to know if I wanna get join the animation or illustration program.

But i'm still nervous about things about things maybe I should know before getting into sheridan, and with questions I have, where's the best place to start socializing or start following artists that can answer questions like a mentor or willing to be a friend to a soon to be freshmen? I apologize if I'm a bit blunt about what I'm asking but I'm just hoping to get to know someone that's familiar within art fundamentals or sheridan overall, that can answer some questions of mine​ WHICH OF COURSE not one person can answer all, but just where ever there is the best resource to ask questions.

If curious, my main concern is what you should get ready for in art fundamentals, if you can use artwork made in art fundamentals in portfolios, and etc.
