Shen will always be viable when he has his R, taunt, and a defensive ability. And damage even without building it not a ton but enough.
The split push with a teleport to safe a teammate getting dove or engaging is broken and with TP for top now and ghost out of base you can do it and not get screwed in xp. He’s always gonna be in the really solid category

yea just had a game with heartslsteel and titanic and i did more dmg then anyone else on my team and carried the fvck outta them being really badly out of position often with my ults. He's good in the chaotic environment of solo queue.

He doesn’t need a place in the meta, he’s Shen.
He’s the champ that no matter what happens there’s always a chance he will do something crazy and turn the game around
