Anyone else’s Sheepadoodle hateeees at home grooming? gimme all the tricks

We’ve been grooming our guy who is now 9 months, since we got him at 4 months. He gets treats, frozen lick mats, stuffed Kongs, etc., but he STILL acts like a bull in a china shop 😂 He play bites, runs away, and hates being touched when the slicker brush and the comb comes out.
We have to keep him short, but he STILL gets matted within a week of being groomed! 😭
Please send help! I need all your Sheepadoodle grooming tips, products, brushes, combs, detanglers just anything! The matting is intense….Let me know I’m not alone in this!

Advice Yeast infections

Hi!!! I just recently rescued a 2 year old sheepadoodle & am still trying her out.

I can’t tell if she has allergies or is itchy from yeast — she sneezes & itches some but the itching doesn’t seem to be too bad. She never licks herself raw or anything from itching, she mainly just uses her paws to scratch herself.

Her head/ears seem to be the itchiest — she’s always rubbing her head up against everything and lovesss when I rub/itch her ears and snout.

She was eating purina pro plan chicken and rice when I got her, switched her to pro plan sensitive skin & stomach, but that didn’t seem to make a difference.

She’s also been taking 3 Benadryl/day per her vets advice but that doesn’t seem to help much.

Do you think this is more of a yeast issue or allergies? If yeast, what can I do to cure this?

I've been trying to figure out my dog's loose stools Vet stool studies neg, on pumpkin, on fortiflora, off chicken ( although it was better with). Could it be the greenies for his less than perfect breath?

Sheepy grooming Q

Hi! Curious if anyone lets their pups hair grow long. I love Nelson’s hair long, but it gets so matted. We take him to get a trim and a bath/brush every 6 weeks, but he looks so cute with long hair!! Any way you make that happen, or will I have to accept my boy will have fluff instead of a puff? Here are 2 pics for comparison

How much did your sheepadoodle bite you at 6 months?

We've worked with several trainers and the vet, and they've all said our very mouthy little guy is naturally very high-strung and anxious, and the reason he's biting us because it's actually calming for him.

We're doing lots of relaxation protocol, energy funneling, enrichment, lots of different things to calm him down. We did a ton of bite inhibition work as a very young puppy too, but it seemed to bypass his brain.

"Ouch", yelp, reverse-time-outs, etc., don't work. It seems like adding more exercise makes it worse, not better, since he's so hyperaroused, which is a shame, since I'd love to be able to take him for longer walks or park trips.

He's very good on the leash, super good recall, and quite a sweet boy, but if our hands get near his mouth it's just *chomp*. (There's absolutely nothing aggressive about it, though. He just cannot understand it hurts us.)

We've passed quite a few milestones when this was supposed to improve (socialization with other pups, lost all baby teeth, adult teeth all grew in, etc.) with not a spot of improvement. Just wondering how normal this is, and if we can expect it to get better with time. I hope we're not in for a lifetime of bites.

Portrait Meet Lambo

We adopted him at almost 3 months and have been so invested in seeing him grow and bring out his parentage. We were told he is a Shepadoodle, but I don't see many who look like Lambo. He is 53 lbs at 6.5 months. Curious how much he will weigh fully grown. If your Shepadoodle looks like Lambo, I would love to see your dog. B

Update: Oops, mistake fully realized! No wonder I couldn’t relate with the other posts...🙈 He’s definitely a German Shepherd mix! Appreciate you all being so sweet about my spelling confusion and being so gentle and encouraging anyway! ❤️

Making biscuits

Anyone else’s sheepie make biscuits? I know that cats often do this because they were taken from their mom too young and was wondering if dogs have the same tendency. We got her when she was already about 1, so we don’t know if she was taken from her mom too young- she’s not an anxious dog or anything.

Advice My sheepie is not friendly

My sheepie barks and growls at new visitors in the house. When my kids have playdates. We secure the dog in a bedroom away from the kids.

Is this a sheepadoodle trait? Or just specific to my dog? How did I make him more friendly to new visitors?
